Beautiful resort!

We stayed in Punta Charita for only 2 nights during our Italy vacation. I only wish we could have stayed longer. The views from our balcony were amazing! The staff was welcoming, wonderful salt pools, restaurants 5 star. Breakfast was included & Delicious! Highly recommend!

Upsides, downsides and our tra....

A LOT of PROS: Incredible views, lovely staff, absolutely wonderful food. It is definitely worth paying 20 € for the half board: very nice meals and very plentiful. One DISAPPOINTMENT: The pools are hot thermal water! Forget about cooling off on a hot summer day. On one side of the cliff, there is a public beach down a long flight of stairs. It is small, uncomfortable and overcrowded. On the other side of the cliff, there is a huge stony beach accessible only from the hotel, walking down a very tricky path. It is only for the athletic but you have the place to yourself. SAVE 18€ The house wine is dreadful. Turn down their suggestion and go for a nice bottle of Montepulciano; you've just avoided waisting 18 € on vinegar thanks to my good advice. GETTING THERE From Naples airport, a taxi to the ferry terminal (Molo Beverello) currently costs 19€ per trip including all passengers and luggage. Ask for the fixed rate ("Tarifa Predeterminata"). You only get this rate if you request it before starting the trip. Stand firm; they will try all the tricks to cheat you of larger sums of money. The "tarifa predeterminata" is indicated on a board behind the passenger seat. Crossing to Ischia costs roughly 20€. A taxi from Casamicciola to the hotel costs 30€ (from Ischia 40€) or you can ride the bus (line CS) for 1,50 € per person as far as the village of Panza. GETTING AROUND Renting a small car is very useful if you want to visit the island. We parked ours at the hotel (no charge). Otherwise, the local buses were very crowded. GET REAL! If you come here expecting a luxury resort, you will be disappointed. Come on, get real, a luxury resort in a location such as this costs much more. Come here expecting a well run, friendly family hotel in an unforgetable surrounding and you will love it.

Spectacular views and great se....

I have to say I was disappointed arriving at the resort which was a bit off the beaten path! Front desk was extremely friendly but we were directed to another part of the hotel which was very remote and far from the main part of the building almost a kilometer up and down hill. We were told that we could have breakfast near us or at the main building and that each was the same. However it was very convenient for us to have the breakfast near our room. Nicola the waiter was phenomenal-helpful and made the best cappucinos. On the last day we chose to have breakfast at the main hotel as we had to check out and the difference was quite substantial-way more choices available and with beautiful views etc.It felt like only the elite were given accommodation at the main section of the hotel where we were staying. Parking was always very difficult and tight. None of this was made clear at the time of booking. The rooms were clean however the beds very hard and the bathroom toileteries were not replenished on a daily basis. There were also no kleenex in the room. This was a bit disappointing considering it was a 4 star hotel. They also charged us for the use of pool towels which were not even new -they were pretty washed out. On the whole an average experience! Internet and wi-fi only available in small section at the main hotel.

Best Resort on Ischia!

Beautiful people running a beautiful hotel! They grow their own fruits and vegetables, which resulted in the most crave-able bruschetta I've ever had. The staff remembered us right away and treated us like family, and our boys had the best time exploring the grotto, which they said reminded them of Pirates of the Caribbean, and swimming in the pool. They are steps away from one of the best features on Ischia, Sorgento, where we spent a whole day swimming in the Sea and floating in the naturally thermal pools. We were married in Ischia, and we will be coming back a year from now to celebrate... we haven't even left yet and we miss it already!!

An Oasis of peace and tranquil....

Recently returned from this lovely hotel with my Italian partner. Located in a stunning clifftop location overlooking the beautiful San't Angelo. The location is spectacular, rooms are comfortable again with wonderful balcony view. Our room is actually built into the cliff! The hotel is fairly isolated - albeit a 5 minute shuttle service away (provided by hotel) takes you to the local town of Panza where buses are available to various destinations on this wonderful Island. The fact that this hotel grows much of its own food the meals were delicious and every dinner at an elevated position overlooking the beautiful views were a treat. Our holiday was a restful and peaceful affair with the hotel attracting a number of Italians, French, German and small number of English clientele. The hotel does not cater for large numbers of people - the hotel resort was peaceful and there was never a need to rush and claim a sunbed ! The main pool area and pool are relatively small with clifftop views and a unique pool which was partially located within a cave within the clifftop. Staff were always friendly and attentive. Though I must admit having an Italian partner did assist me considerably - particularly when deciphering what to eat ! Down the bottom of a cliff in close vicinity to the hotel is a volcanic outlet to the sea attracting numerous visitors - in some areas the water was so hot that some of the locals even cook mussels that they have just caught. There are a number of steps down to this area - I was definitely fitter towards the and of my holiday than when I first arrived. My Partner and I, loved this hotel. Be aware though that if you are infirm you may struggle to get around the resort. Although nothing is far apart in distance, there are quite a number of steps to face when walking around the resort.
