Hotel Executive Select Residen....
It was an average place to stay. If its just a lodging you just want to put your head down at night, then its for you. We had no other place to stay, so we had to make the best of it. The breakfast daily is adequate and nicely prepared. The rooms are cleaned daily. Not much good food places around.

Modern hotel but disappointing....
The hotel looked modern but had a smell upon arriving and after that an overpowering smell of bleach that almost choked me. The decor was worn which was unexpected for a 4* establishment and the rooms were spacious. There are hardly any windows for natural light. The shower in 503 was leaky and the heating in the bathroom in 502 was covered in rust. The beds were ok but a little on the uncomfortable side. The breakfast was limited including spoiled apples which were the only fruit options. On the positive side, the staff was extremely helpful and building was secure and within walking distance of some very good restaurants.

We were pretty happy when we came into the room. Nice modern look with two stories. The outside looks nice as well. Unfortunately, when we went upstairs it had a foul smell and mold all along the wall. Most of the mold is right next to the AC. How do you not clean up mold for an executive hotel!?
The area is safe. We were able to take a long walk to the tourist areas both days.
Mosquitos were plenty in this room. The first night I found a bite on my arm. I found 5 mosquitos in the room and unfortunately had to kill them.
Plus - we asked the front desk for a bottle opener and was told he didn't have one. Come on, it's Italy, get it together.
I stayed in Room 505. Hotel management - Please fix your mold issue, or at least clean it! It's utterly disgusting to stay in it.

We stayed here for three nights while visiting Florence with our 1 year old. Unfortunately there was a mistake with the booking and the hotel didn't get the message we needed a travel cot. The lovely man at reception quickly sorted it out by giving us bigger room with a pull out sofa bed for our baby to sleep on that night until they could get us a cot the next day on the Monday. This made our stay a lot nicer. Safe,secure, quiet rooms. Location is a little way out about 30 minute walk from the Duomo but we didn't mind that. We also paid for the private parking at 16 euros a night which we thought was better than parking on the road outside.

Horrible experience. DO NOT go....
This has been one of the worst experiences ever of my traveling life. I booked thru Travelocity and called the hotel the same day just to confirm that the room that I got was going to be as big as the one I saw on the website (30 square meters). The guy on the phone replied: "All rooms are that big at the Select Executive". The night we got there, at check in the person behind the desk told us that all the rooms at Select Executive were unavailable and that we had to stay at Hotel Select, which is a 3 star hotel in front of the one we actually booked. He offered to include free breakfast to make up for the issue. The room we were given was half the size of the one I paid for. We made a complaint but the guy didn't know how to further help. So, here's my thing: owning and running a hotel is a serious business. It has to do with people's lives and expectations. Maybe a guest has booked that trip for months and has been waiting to see that city for all his life. The amount of disrespect I felt about all this as a guest was unbelievable. I paid for a hotel room at a 4 star hotel and I'm told I need to stay in a different room at a 3 star hotel? And you think I will be content with 2 free breakfasts, which I didn't want in the first place because I already had other plans for that? I will not make do with what you guys have to offer, it's actually the other way around: you need to live up to my expectations. If you are not willing to do that, then you are not really running a business - it's called a hobby. Turn your hotel into an Airbnb room and I'll be fine with free breakfast. In the room, I called travelocity and they booked a different 4 star hotel nearby; and we left. Never again. PS the guy at check in was nice, not his fault. This is obviously a management problem.
