Very nice view of the valley

Very clean and tidy room, spacious bed, GREAT view of the valley. The breakfast was good with a variety of pastries and fruits. The only negative perk was that the coffe was from a selfservice automatic machine.

Solid spa stay

We booked this hotel because of the spa pool area. We had 4 nights in the area and wanted a respite from all the walking we had planned. Reviews we had read placed the hotel high on visitors to this area's list of affordable and acceptable hotels. The hotel it self has been very grand in its time, but is now showing signs of its age. It has that worn and well used look and feel about it. You do not find you're self yet revisiting the trip advisor photos and then reality and thinking "F - what have we booked into", but I can imagine in a few years at the current rate of decline that may happen. That said the place is very clean and the staff clearly attempt to keep on top of those repairs they can. Based upon the surrounding area this hotel's state may simply be representative of the current economic times. We found the staff are all very accommodating and helpful. The room we had I would class as basic at best, but very clean, comfortable and suitable for our needs. The restaurant is a large open space that also functions as the breakfast room. We did not eat lunch nor dinner here, only breakfast. The breakfast like the rooms was basic, but functional. It had a full mix of cold savoury meats and cheeses for savoury lovers, and then then standard Italian sweet cakes, and congenital breakfast fair. The spa is the hotel's best feature, there are various treatment rooms and procedures, none of which we tried, but with dedicated staff, I can imagine you would be well looked after. You go through a moderate sell of these alternative offerings when the pool area is first shown to you, but there is no further attempts after this initial presentation. In this hotel you pay a fee for the use of the pool, which as a guest is a single fee for your entire stay, non hotel guests pay per day. This is an advantage to some other Tuscany hotels that charge guests a daily fee for spa use. You are asked to wear swimming caps the spa's pool, and if you do not have your own then plastic ones are provided. These are uncomfortable and a bit like wearing a shopping bag on your head, a true fashion statement that make the place look more like a mental hospital than a sanctuary of relaxation. Some spas sell cotton caps which look to be much more comfortable. I would suggest if you plan to stay longer than a day or two, a cotton swimming cap would be a good investment. We used the sun deck on the roof which was well past its best but commands fantastic 360 degree views of the surrounding valley and country side, anyone with a camera will enjoy the vista. The internet is available in the rooms but as with most hotels better whist you are in the lobby. The car parking is free and easy to get into, but as typical in Italy fills up quickly and thus requires some creative and adventurous solutions at times to fit in. We had the smallest car we could hire, as we expected parking to be a challenge, a move that served us well, not just at this hotel, but on our entire trip. I always measure a hotels on one questions, "would I stay again"? This Hotel gets a resounding yes, it's tired and a bit rough around the edges, but if you can look past its faults, it has everything you will need for a pleasant stay in Chianciano Terme.

Nice hotel with great faciliti....

I stayed for several dsys in the hotel, nice place with everything you need: spa, delicious food, nice and polite staff ready to help in every situation. You can reach the place via public transportation from Firenze, Siena. Place you see and travel around by car or by bus. Parking is available at the hotel.

Great hotel with excellent sta....

The rooms were lovely, and one in particular was very spacious indeed. The rooms were immaculately clean and tidy as well. They were cleaned daily, and towels changed daily too. The air conditioning was very useful as was the fridge. The location of the hotel is excellent. Chianciano 'centro storico' is walking distance and offers superb views. The large supermarket is also walking distance. The buffet breakfast is simply amazing offering an extremely wide range of foods to suit all needs. All staff were great, but a special mention for Laura, who was a star!

Good Place To Stay To Tour Sou....

Nice clean hotel in a good place in Southern Tuscany. Good location if you have a car and want to tour the area. Comfortable air conditioned rooms, but bathroom could use an update. the staff are friendly, and eager to help. this is a spa. We did not try the spa but heard that it was good. Great breakfast in the hotel.
