2 Week Vacation in Germany
Had a great time in Heidelberg and the location, history, and quality of the hotel was great. At first, I did have a little trouble finding where to park a rental car, but a college student helped me and said everyone knows about this famous hotel.

Check in was nice and breakfast was good as it was included with the deluxe double room. Extremely disappointed in the room as we were expecting a bit more. A burnt out bulb in the overhead light fixture made the room barely lit, while the restoration going on, meant that the curtains had to be drawn, cutting off all outside light, or the workers outside on the scaffolding can look right into your room. The screen covering the facade restoration from being seen from the square and cathedral also not only took away any light from from the room, but also any view that was one of the main reasons that led to us staying here. Was hoping to capture a worker in the pictures, but they seemed to call it a day after the complaint to the front desk. Location is great and had high hopes for a magical stay. The hotel failed to deliver on its promise. Pictures attached show the view of the backside of the screen and the scaffolding. That is the only view you get. There additionally was no warning about the lack of view, nor any reduction in rate.

Perfect location in a beautiful town, situated in the old part of the town. Good service, Nice rooms. This is a hotel I can recommend and would like to comeback back to. 26 Degrees C 20 of April made the weekend great.

Perfect location in Heidelberg....
This is a great place to stay if you want to be in Altstadt. Only 2 blocks to the river, and within 10 minutes’ walk to numerous sites, shops and restaurants. Everyone at the reception desk is friendly and helpful. My room (#210, a single) was small, but very clean and with an excellent shower. It is adequate for 1 person for a short stay, but clearly could not accommodate 2 people. Bed is OK, comparable to other European hotels in the same price range. Buffet breakfast offered the usual variety in Germany, but is a bit overpriced at 15 Euro. My only negative: the room got quite warm at night even with the window open and outside temps only in the 50F/10C range. I requested a fan for the second night, which the reception desk graciously provided, and it helped a little. If you like it cool when you’re sleeping, request a larger room or come during the winter. Otherwise it’s a very nice place.

Very beautiful location and fa....
This hotel is very old but has had extensive renovations done inside, and is currently undergoing renovations on the facade outside so it is all covered by construction netting and cannot be seen. However this hotel is very centrally located, which makes it easy to see much of the downtown area by walking. There is no parking available at the hotel itself, but many parking places near by. We found the staff to be very helpful and cheerful. The beds were extremely comfortable, and the room was also squeeky clean ! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this hotel !
