Perfect for a one night stopov....
We had to stay one night in Hamburg to break up the train ride from Amsterdam to Copenhagen. We decided to book this hotel because it is literally right across the Hamburg HBF and it was cheap (less than $100 CAD a night).
The room appeared clean, that’s the most important part. The check in was easy, but note that the reception isn’t open 24 hours and we actually had to check out at the hotel down the street when we left at 4am the following day. The elevator was extremely small, and I was actually paranoid that I was going to get stuck in it. The water in the bathroom took forever to heat up but it eventually got there.
The one thing that struck me as very weird is that there is an Italian Restaurant next door and they had patio tables blocking the entrance to the hotel. It was very hard to enter and exit without luggages, and it was definitely a challenge navigating around the diners with our big luggages.
If you are in Hamburg for only a night and on a budget, this place isn’t bad. But I think one night would be my limit, then I’d go check in somewhere else.

Stayed here for two nights during a recent trip to Hamburg and Heide park. room was small and dated but clean and functional. Staff were very friendly and the location was excellent right next door to the main train station. Breakfast was served in the restaurant next door and was good. Excellent WiFi. Would stay again

Very pleasant stay
Have recently returned from a 2 night stay at this Hotel.
Our main reason for choosing this Hotel was the position opposite the Central Railway Station and the price.
The Hotel could do with updating, but we found it very comfortable with pleasant staff.
Our bedroom was tiny, but made up with a very good bed, TV (CNN) and a very well presented bathroom.
The breakfast was very good with plenty to choose from.
Little bit put out when the Reception is not always being open.
Considering all this, i would recommend this Hotel, but not if you have to higher an expectation.

Break week in Hamburg
This hotel is very very bad! The light is terrible, the badroom is very small and water past to hot then cold, the bed is not comfortable adn the breakfast is very poor example only milk is not available. Only good point is the location just in fornt of Train Central Station.

The good thing about this hotel is location wise, it is directly opposite central station so its easy to find and accessible. There is a lovely pub called Paulaners a few doors down with nice staff and good beer which we enjoyed. As we got this hotel on the cheap I shouldn't complain too much but I have stayed in much nicer 3 stars. The cleanliness wasn't great, we found a chewing gum stuck to the carpet behind the bed with lots of dust. The room was very small and cramped, the lift wasn't working so we had to climb 3 flights of stairs every single day. The breakfast was very basic and minimal, the staff were not very polite or friendly. To the left of the building 2 minutes down the road was a very rough and scary area, lots of drug dealing and gangs there so not safe at all. Will not be trying a cheap city break again, would rather just pay the extra for a much nicer experience.
