Amazing views overlooking the ....
Just got back from spending 2 nights here.
Rooms were adequate. No bath. Or kettle though .
Us brits need a brew. Car parking was behind the hotel 3.90 euro per day .
Rooms are right above an Italian restaurant .. breakfast was plentiful.
Overall a great stay.

Friendly hotel in a beautiful ....
The San Marco apartment hotel in Hopfen is on the shores of the glassy Hopfensee lake, and close to Fussen and the castles of Neuschwanstein and Hohenschwangau. It was very reasonably priced compared to similar accommodation in Fussen and had a perfectly satisfactory restaurant for dinners and breakfasts. Above all, the hotel staff were smiling and friendly and attentive. We highly recommend this hotel.

German Fawlty Towers?
Perhaps not quite that bad but checking in was a bit of a shambles but when we finally got to our room we found the facilities to be excellent.
The location by the lake was superb and the breakfast was good, they just need to get organised and package it better.

Good food, great views, hotel ....
Stayed the night after visiting Neuschwanstein Castle. There was no info provided that said you had to check in at the restaurant, so I wandered around the property for a bit before going into the restaurant to ask. I came in during a slow time, so I think that helped, but the waitress still had to leave during check in to get drinks/food for restaurant customers. Also, my booking said there was free parking, but we were charged 3 Euro to park for the night. Parking area is very small. We had a rented van and barely got in and out. I had to park in two parking spaces, but I rented two rooms so I felt I was entitled to that lol. The rooms seemed more like an afterthought. We had two rooms for our family. The rooms were nothing alike, not decorated remotely the same, had completly different layouts, and even had different TV systems with completly different channels. The bed I slept on was one of the most uncomfortable beds I had ever slept on. My bed was way too soft, while the bed in the other room my wife was in was way too hard. We went down to the restaurant, and having spent the previous days in Switzerland, we went nuts at dinner because compaired to Zurich, the food was so cheap! We got 4 or 5 Pizzas, all very good sized, and a salad that took up most of the table. With all that and drinks, it was only ~70 Euro or so. I guess I am used to pizza in the US that comes pre cut, it was odd having to cut the pizza with our silverware, but I guess that is standard in Germany.

nice place in great location
Check-in/out via restaurant staff is a bit discombobulated, but the spacious room/apartment with view/balcony/terrace over the lake and surrounding mountains is splendid. Full kitchen, nice bath, parking on property. Italian restaurant good, breakfast buffet for extra charge. If you have to leave early to get to the castles, stop at the bakery/coffee shop a hundred yards up the street.
