Grubby reception area. Not rec....
My wife and I went into this hotel on Saturday 17th March to book a room for one night, but as soon as we saw the worn, grubby furniture in the reception area, we left immediately and eventually spent a very nice night at the Comfort Hotel.
Other reviewers say that the rooms are generally clean at the Holiday Inn Express in Friedrichshafen, but first impressions are extremely important, and if the furniture in the reception area is disgusting, we take that as a sign that the management doesn't regard cleanliness and appearance as important. The reception area at the Holiday Inn Express in Friedrichshafen is quite large, and the seating area is quite expensive with several items of furniture. That furniture was so grubby and worn that just the thought of sitting on it made us squirm.
Finally, we noticed that pets are allowed in the Holiday Inn Express in Friedrichshafen; a practice that we, personally, find disgusting and unhygienic. The Ibis hotel also allows pets (and smoking in some rooms! Bad practice!). The Comfort Hotel, on the other hand, does not allow pets and is a no-smoking hotel. We highly recommend the Comfort Hotel.

Not far from the airport. ( 12 € by cab).
Check in and check out fast and a friendly front desk.
Room was adequately sized.
Clean and good toilet.
Breakfast was good and usual stuff.
Staff friendly there too.
Convenient if you have business in nearby industries.

Clean - Crisp - Basic
If you’re looking for a place to stay that’s budget friendly with good breakfast, this is the place. It’s clean and well-kept and the service is friendly. However, the rooms have little storage for much more than a couple of days worth of travel ‘stuff’ and there’s no gym or workout space. That makes it very difficult to keep up with your workout routine while traveling.

OK but not too friendly
We stayed here one night while visiting friends, the hotel being very affordable and well-rated on the internet. I felt the reception was rather stiff and also felt it a bit weird that the lady felt a need to comment that I had booked via expedia.com (hotel staff does this at times, I fail to see sense in this - especially when the room was actually booked with a differently named expedia-reseller).
Room was small but ok - and as it was Saturday evening we switched on the TV to watch Bundesliga. However, I found it quite weird that the TV had no stored programs and that I had to run a full channel search to watch TV. Don't know what went wrong there, but it is less than optimal, I think.
I'd have told reception, but the lady was always busy and I didn't want to queue to tell them about their shortcomings.
Breakfast next morning was quite nice. As others wrote, they might add some hot dishes (scrambled eggs, for example), but nowadays cheap hotels will serve you horrible Ersatz-egg usually, and skipping on that one is fine by me. I was actually surprised that ham, salami and sausage looked (and tasted) really nice, far from the usual Ersatz-ham or cartilage-filled salami. Breakfast was fine, I think.
We weren't sure whether we'd be ready for the 11am checkout, but we had been informed that as an IHG member we were eligible to stay until 2pm. However, the lady at the reception told me that with my expedia-booking she didn't want my IHG card and that she had told housekeeping already that we'd be leaving at 11am. Yeah, well, thank you.
Lastly - I wonder why in a large international hotel group it is obviously impossible to have a native speaker take a look at one's English handouts. (see picture)

It'a Holiday Inn
Near the airport, although only heard one plane taking off, so fairly quiet considering its location. Easy check in, friendly staff. Either frozen pizza or pizza delivery food wise. The receptionist suggested a restaurant 5 minutes walk away. It was worth the 5 minute walk.
The room was standard for this type of hotel, would probably stay there again, mainly due to its location.
OOPS, There was a problem in processing your request!!!
