Less than mediocre
Less than mediocre. All facilities are old, washed-up and dirty. Showers are awful & there's no room for you to put your clothes unless you wanna take them in the shower with you. Staff wasn't very friendly. My towel was dirty. The bunk beds in the tour bus are the worst thing I've ever slept on. Ultra hard & uncomfortable mattresses, extremely small (I'm 1,65m & barely made it inside), the sheets are WAY too warm for summer (I was not the only one complaining. I overheard several peoople during breakfast mentioning the same things), despite tiny windows (mine was broken so that anybody could have reached through there during the night & steal my phone) there's hardly any air circulation in the room (was in there with just 2 other people. I don't even want to imagine how it is with up to 8) and the wall which you are pressed against was dirty and had holes ripped in it. It also was extremely loud. Breakfast was ok. I do not underatand the good ratings. For 26€/night I have been to much nicer places AND hostels. If you don't mind an over-priced shabby place with dirty corners & waking up with a free headache and numb legs, this is the place for you.

A very good hostel who is cool....
Situated not real in the center of the city, the hostel is very very beautiful, with the differents caravans. There is a little corner shop ,with drinks, waffles and snakcs. You can eat in your caravan, and at the upstar, you have a mezzanine floor, and it's here where you eat breakfast.
I take a caravan like this Scoobydoo, and the bed is high up The bed is a bit narrow, but very comfortable.
Breakfast is very kind : you have a little bit of everything like milk, yoghurt, cerels, fruts.... I recommend !!

One of the coolest overnight e....
I stayed at BaseCamp Bonn with a group for one night during a dental conference in Cologne. While I therefore can't comment on the location in relation to things to do in the city, I can say that it was worth staying there regardless.
The concept of BaseCamp Bonn is really unique: it's sort of like camping indoors, but in addition to trailers you could also stay in a ski gondola, Trabbi with a tent on top, VW bus, and more. We had rooms in the giant sleeping train car, which is like taking the dorm option at a hostel because you share it with others (though the beds are separated into pairs of bunks). Relatively unchanged from the original train, these beds were a bit cramped. You could fit two people in one room but I would not recommend it with large luggage. That's probably the most affordable solution if you're travelling alone, but if you're with a group I would suggest splurging on your own trailer instead.
The bathrooms were impeccably clean. Employees at reception were incredibly friendly and helpful. A towel, bed sheets, Wi-Fi, and breakfast are all included in the price. The breakfast buffet was quite good, serving a lot of traditional German breakfast items like müsli with milk, buns with cheese and ham or jam or peanut butter or Nutella, yogurt, giant apples, two kinds of juice, and coffee and a nice selection of tea. You could definitely eat a hearty breakfast to save money on lunch later.
Most impressive, of course, is the attention to detail in the decor. Everything is so bright and creative, I've never taken nearly so many photos in a hostel before. We were there for a couple of chilly days in March, but for the warmer months there is also a party bus outside. I expect the atmosphere would be quite lively with lots of music and barbecuing.
If you're looking to spice up your accomodations then I would definitely suggest trying out BaseCamp Bonn!

Fun and friendly place to stay
We fell in love with this place as soon as we found out about it and the prices are good, particularly when split between friends.
We stayed for a week and loved it. The staff were very friendly the entire time and all spoke English very well. There was always someone around when we needed them.
The breakfast was basic but that’s not a complaint. It was a tasty and filling way to start each day. The one morning we had to leave before breakfast started they put together a packed one to take with us.
Basecamp itself was beautiful and exciting. There’s a lot to take in and we were noticing new things all the time, even within our own caravan. One of the staff members even let us look around some of the unoccupied caravans, since each is very different with its own theme. They have a lot of interesting items. The sky backdrop at times made me feel like we were outside.
I loved staying here and would want to do so again.
