Good average hotel. Not the be....
The hotel is easy to find from the directions. I used public transport which is very easy to use and regular.
All of the staff I met were friendly but none of them spoke fluent english which did make things a bit complicated when I tried asking questions but it was fine.
I booked a small room with an outside toilet. The room is fairly small but surprisingly did have a shower and a sink inside. The toilet is up half a flight of stairs and is private for this room. Yes it is a bit of a pain at night but if you're that worried just pay more a book a room with a toilet. The decor is quite dated but its clean and comfortable. I had no problems.
I paid for breakfast for 2 morning during my stay. I paid 16€ for 2 mornings and I feel this was really over priced. There is a very limited selection with no hot food and a small cereal selection. I feel that for the limited selection that they had breakfast should have been included in the room price.
The did however provide tea and coffee throughout the day which I always think is nice.
Reception closes at 8pm and so access is through a side gate.
Overall, my stay was fine. No complaints. would recommend.

Charming hotel, friendly hosts....
My husband and I spent 4 nights in a double room in this hotel last week. We had an excellent experience. The staff is super friendly (I note Bernie who was super nice and made us feel so much at home).
The room was clean, spacious, and well lit. It is not luxurious but has everything one needs. While the hotel is very well located in the vibrant area of Friedrichshain, the room was super quiet and was located at the back of the building, which I understand is the case with all the rooms.
The wifi is excellent. Free coffee and tea service is on all day until 8 pm, and that I have found very helpful. I would recommend that you get breakfast at the coffee shop across the street.
For us this hotel was good value for money. Nothing beats being greeted with a huge smile and friendly service, then moving into a clean, quiet and spacious room.
Overall, my husband and I had an excellent stay and I would definitely stay there if and when I return to Berlin. There was something charming about this hotel, despite its simplicity. Huge thanks to all the wonderful staff of this hotel.

Any way good for one day only, in case you prefer not to sleep on the airport floor!

Clean and in a great location
Its a fairly basic no frills affair, with an on suite bathroom that is basic but has everything you need. Decent shower and wifi. The bed is fine, the pillows are maybe a bit big but its comfy and a good enough size.I slept well for my whole stay. The location is amazing! There are so many cool bars, restaurants and clubs in the area that you don`t really have to venture too far to find nice places to hang out. The main guy who checks you in is a really genuine friendly guy who is happy to help. The breakfast is a typical continental style breakfast but up the street there are loads of places for a cooked breakfast if thats what you want. Also if you are planning on trying to get into Berghiem, its less that 10 mins walk away. I`ll definitely be back to the area and I`ll happily stay in Junkers again.

I read very mixed reviews so didn't know what to expect. Turned out to have a very pleasant experience. No luxury but that wasn't to be expected with the relatively low price I paid. Booked a double room for single occupancy which I think is very well worth the additional 5 EUR. Relatively spacious. Very clean, very friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.
