We stayed here on a city break for 3 nights.
The hotel is very well situated for most of the museums and points of interest. All transportation services are right on the doorstep.
Hotel staff are very helpful. The breakfast is really nice and well worth adding it to your stay.
I only have one issue. This was that there is no air conditioning in the room. They do provide a fan, but this just pushes the warm air around. We did open the window, but this didn’t really help.
Don’t get me wrong, the room is comfortable but very hot at night. So summer would be sweaty.
As always, this was my point of view at this moment in time.

Cons and pros
The hotel has a rundown and dirty looking exterior but inside it has been modernised.
You ring a bell at the side and hope you are strong enough to open the door, the day I arrived the reception was manned by a young woman who barely greeted me and did not smile. The booking form I had showed that I paid 3 different prices for each night and getting higher each night. I questioned this and she said that was how it was. Her attitude to a visitor was not good and I thought that I would have to change hotels for the next 2 nights. When I asked the way to another hotel, where I was meeting friends, I was given vague directions (in English) and it took me 40 minutes of going around and asking various people to find the hotel which was actually only about a 5 minute walk from where I was staying!!
The room on the 4th floor was overlooking the street where at least 3 trams were parked, so not exactly a great view. However the room, though small was well equipped and clean as was the bathroom though the shower had mould in the corners. The next receptionist was a little more pleasant and helpful and showed me where to go for the railway station etc, very near. She also showed me the coffee machine where one could help oneself to coffee at any time. There were also apples on the reception desk that you could help yourself to. I asked this recetionist about the hike in price and she said that it was normal and that the hotel was full that night and that was why the price was so high..what?!! surely if the hotel is full the price should be lower!!
The most pleasant person I met was the young lady who cleaned my room, we could not speak the same language but she was smiling and helpful and with gestures we understood each other. I would have given her a 4 in the valuation of service.
Breakfast is extra and costs 17.50 euro, I did not take it and there are plenty of nice places locally serving cheaper breakfasts.

Berlin City Break - Hotel Hack....
Fantastic hotel modern clean staff extremely helpful. We were in the attic rooms which had fantastic view. Hotel location is adjacent to train station with trans outside and stops for tour bus 2 mins away. We arrived into schofield airport and got train to hackescher markers (45 mins) and hotel was 2 mins from station. We didn’t have meals in hotel as their were plenty of places to eat nearby. The location of the hotel made the holiday as it was near to everything we wanted to see either by walking, on trains or using your bus. Had a fantastic time in Berlin. Would definitely recommend this hotel

At the center of Berlin
This is an average hotel located at the very center of berlin, besides the traditional Hackersche Market, Alexander Platz and Insel Museum.
Unfortunately the rooms are small even for one person. The breakfast is very good but it is difficult to inderstand why no service room is available at all. You have to go out day or night for snacks and drinks.

We stayed here for two nights. Our room had a king bed with a sofa bed for our daughter. The room was clean and in good condition. The hotel is located near all major city sights. No fault to the hotel, it was extremely hot in Berlin and our room did not have AC. The hotel provided a fan and we slept with the windows open. There was very little street noise.
