basic and not clean
I chose this property for its perfect location and the reviews were positive. For me most important thing is cleanliness. I didn't care that it was very basic. when I first got to the room everything seemed clean but at night I discovered that the toilet seat from the bottom where u can see from afar and from the side was smeared with fesis(sorry for the disgusting description) I was so disturbed by the scene. In the morning i went to the reception and they were very understanding and took my complain seriously and cleaned it of course. However the bad taste remains. the TV is also not working properly. In short I will not return and I don't recommend it to anyone to book in this apartment complex.

This unique hotel has its rooms facing a court yard, which itself is behind walls that separate the rooms from the street and thus transforms almost magically the hubbub of Berlin into a peaceful and hurt oasis.

A good value for money find!
A local colleague recommended this hotel and it lived up to his description. We loved the decor, just the right side of ironic kitsch. The staff were very helpful throughout our six day stay; the rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day. We were in the middle of a heat wave and fortunately each room had a fan, One colleague had selected a single 'economy' room which was rather small but it sufficed. This was the first time we had stayed in Mitte but we will return. This hotel is conveniently located for the trams, U and S Bahns.

I had been to the Zarenhof hotel near Ewerswalde and had high expectations. Unfortunately, the Zarenhof on Berlin mitte did not meet them. Some of the rooms near the street are extremely noisy. Then I forgot an international power adapter in my room and when I came back to ask for it, only one day afterwards, the staff was super unfriendly, indifferent, almost discriminating. Really not worth going back to this hotel. Is one of those overpriced places that makes you feel like they are making you a favour for allowing you yo stay there.
And by the way, the 12 euros breakfast buffet, not included in the regular room rate, is overated and expensive.

We reached early in the morning and the rooms were not yet ready since the earlier guests had not left yet. That was anyway our expectation and we just wanted to dump our luggage and start our tour of the city. The staff were very friendly with the man at the reception offering us a place to freshen up and for us to charge our phones. He took the initiative to call up one of their other hotels down the road and offered us similar rooms there since it was already available. We didn't take them up on their offer since we didn't want to relocate once more but it was a nice gesture. When we came back from the tour, there was a different guy at the front desk, but he had been briefed properly and immediately helped us with our bags and rooms. They also gave us a couple of adapters even though we were leaving early morning the next day (they just asked us to drop it at the box)
The rooms themselves were pretty nice - spacious for 2 people but could accommodate 3 as well. The location is great with the train and tram station at 5 minutes walking. There are a couple of restaurants on the same street.
Will definitely stay here if I go back
