AVOID - this is a dreadful hot....
Avoid at all costs. The convenient location is not a good reason to stay here.
The welcome we got from the grumpy Danny de Vito character on what might be termed the front desk, was perfunctory at best and more likely downright rude. We were offered no assistance to our rooms on the 3rd floor and as we climbed the dirty damaged and fluff ridden steps, we were not surprised that the management didn’t want to be with us when we found our room. I was in room 7 and my friend was in room 10 to start with though moved to room 4 to get a bed that was functional.
The room. It was dingy and dirty. The walls were stained though it should be said that one wall did appear to have paint on it. The room smelt of urine (we found out why later). The floor was dirty (I kept my socks on for the whole stay). The window to the balcony was broken. The balcony was very dirty and the furniture on it was badly soiled. There was a table which housed a dirty kettle and cups (not used) and a cable minefield for the TV (not used). The table was dirty. There was a small heat exchanger under the table with a thick layer of dust on it. There was a wardrobe but the doors were faulty. To be fair, the lights all worked but when I turned them on it made the room look worse. There was a metal chair, but the cushion was stained and it was holding back the single curtain which was dirty and stained and had been adjusted for length by the use of safety pins. To be fair these pins looked fairly new. The air-con did work thankfully.
The bed. The cover was badly soiled and smelly (possibly the urine - but not tested). The sheets looked clean but the single blanket looked a bit suspicious. The bed base was badly soiled and I couldn’t bring myself to look under the bed. The bed pillows were biscuit thin so I found the spare pillows in the wardrobe. Both of these looked like they had been used before, judging by their creasing. I put a t-shirt over them before using them. The best bit about the bed was that, on the side that I used, it was fairly level and I did actually manage to sleep.
The bathroom. This was disgusting. The floor was dirty, the walls were dirty and there were wires sticking out of the wall over the sink. The mirror was dirty and the glass shelf was stained and dusty. The sink was dirty and broken and - it transpires - the plumbing under it was broken and leaked badly when I shaved. To be fair the water pressure was good and the water was hot. The toilet was rank! It was not fixed to the floor and there was a tell tale leak at the back (I think the source of the urine smell - again not tested). The seat was not fixed on properly. The shower over bath was dirty and cracked but the shower curtain was ok. The shower fitting was broken and dangling free. The grouting between the tiles was stained.
We reported the state of this room to our friendly receptionist, but he didn’t care. My mate’s room was worse and he got moved. He had received bed bug bites which only started to heal after some treatment. We were having long days at the racing which also meant that the hotels in Nice were pretty full so we really had to put up with it - or sleep on park benches.
Summary. The very best thing about this hotel was the outside where we enjoyed our return visit to this wonderful city. We are saddened that the owners of this dreadful establishment blight the decent reputation of the city. We cannot advise strongly enough that, based on extensive experience of staying in hotels, this is probably the worst hotel that I have encountered and - really - staying anywhere else is the best choice for staying in this great city.

The room was dirty, the shower....
I walked into the room and it resembled a flop house. The shower was dirty, the floors were coming apart, carpet was torn and molding missing. There is no lift and the stairs are dangerous. We didn't stay, we advised the clerk that our room was dirty and he shrugged his shoulders and said we pre paid-no refunds. We went just down the street and for 40 euros more slept in a clean and comfortable room . Don't even consider this place it is a dump.

Basic, noisy aircon, central
This is a basic hotel but suited us for its location and price. We were on the top floor and double glazing, tea making facilities, balcony and air con is a good deal. Clean but basic. Its a hike to the top floor up 4 flights. The aircon was noisy but good. Room small. We were two guys and enjoyed the fact its right on the main pedestrian drag.

Stayed in this Hotel...oh what a mistake...everything was none existent, our rooms were on the top floor 5flights up no lift, the room was grubby and hadn't been cleaned ....the decor was appalling,no were to sit ,a plastic table and an old wooden one in the corner....the bath room was dirty the tap was almost comming out of the sink if that's what you can call it....the shower itself was iffy and so was the shower curtain, the electrics were boardering on dangerous, the TVs was like a postage stamp, lights didn't work ,the balcony if that's what you could call it was dangerous, the dinning room was a joke more than 3 people and it would have been cramped....the garden was a balcony with one table 2 chairs and an ashtray full of fag ends....you had to order the breakfast the night before, for 10euros no way we went outside and for 6.20 euros had a good breakfast......al in all the staff were no existent and so was everything else......fantastic location and cheap, but no need for that sort of couldn't care less attitude......think twice before you book????????????

Basic but clean, good value, g....
First of all, let me say I enjoyed my short stay at Hotel Felix. When I return to Nice, I will happily look it up and use it again. It's cheap, has a kind of charm, the staff were nice, great location, clean and a big plus is a 24/7 "reception" for late night check in's etc.
The hotel seems to be aiming for shabby chic, with its paint washed wall effect and weathered shutters; but in all honesty it’s more shabby. Dints out of the walls in the small room (not enough space to pass by your partner around the bed). Curtains with no liner so the first sign of sun light and the room is lit up – not that the liner would make much difference as the curtain didn’t fit the windows anyway, so there’s a large gap. Obvious signs of water damage around the window. Cables hanging everywhere, including the bathroom. A crack in the sink which meant if you filled it, it ran water over your feet. All put a smile on my face.
However, nothing that’s a show stopper and really we just needed a bed to crash into and a shower with hot water in the mornings and for it to be clean in which case it ticked those boxes. The location is great, entrance is right opposite one of the more popular restaurants (we arrived at 11:30pm, checked in and went to eat at it – people were still arriving gone 1am) and there’s a good buzz to the area. Near one of the airport shuttle bus stops. Near to the beach and a 10 minute walk to the old town. We had a room at the back, and it was nice and quiet.
If you’re a bit sensitive, complain at the smallest thing and expect a lot from your hotel, then I wouldn’t recommend here; otherwise it’s great.
