I stayed at this hotel in October 2017 and can't say enough about the staff. My car was broken into the night I stayed here. My keys, wallet, ID and credit cards were all stolen. Without my keys, I couldn't get into my friend's apartment where I planned to spend the night. So I arrived at the hotel completely stressed, disheveled, and with a smashed car window. The night manager, Moustapha G. could not have been more kind. He gave me a room without any ID whatsoever and even loaned me his cellphone to cancel my credit cards. These simple acts of kindness reinforced my faith in the human race. Thank you Moustapha! Now for my review of the hotel. I work in tourism and have stayed in countless hotels over the years. My room was perfectly clean, very spacious, and while located right in the city had a great view. Despite closing both sets of doors, I still found my room rather noisy as I could hear people walking and talking in the hallway. The hotel is located in Villeurbanne, a hip suburb of Lyon. It's about a block away from a subway/metro stop and a roughly 20-minute walk to the centre of Lyon. Villeurbanne itself is quite chic so you're only a few blocks from nice shops, a Starbucks, restaurants and so on. From what I could gather, this seems to be a popular hotel for people doing business in the area but I'd be more than happy to come back with my family as well. By adding a day bed, my room was certainly large enough to accommodate 3-4 people.

only the Location is good
Do not go! cleanliness limit, carpet out of age, creepy atmosphere and really high prices compared to the service ... Do not repeat. internet does not work; they don't have a air conditione; you can't change the temp of the heat, all night you hear the Traffic outdoor, and 11 euro for the parking per day !!!!!! for what!!!!!!!!

I stayed for one night as in Lyon for the European Rugby Final, booked a twin room and was put on the 7th floor. Friendly welcome in relatively spacious (by French standards) lobby. Room was clean and a good size. Separate toilet and bathroom with toiletries. Only negative would be the handheld shower but not a huge issue. Modern flat screen TV mounted on wall and free wifi worked fine. Also plug sockets and USB next to the bed which is rare in hotels of a much higher standard. Easy check out and a friendly female receptionist who arranged a taxi for me. Overall a very straightforward and comfortable stay. Easy to get taxi to centre of Lyon - about 15 Euros. Paid £65 for each room which considering the final was on was a bargain. Other 3 stars were going at £150 plus

Best feature - free parking
This is NOT a hotel I'd go back to. It is close to underground, has WIFI and air conditioning and the staff was nice. Location was far from historic district, so the public transportation was a life-saver. Schlep back via subway and what have you got? A room that does not make you happy - bad smells, no view, little furniture and crowded space.
Lyon Office of Tourism recommended this hotel because we had a car to park. If I had it to do over, I'd stay on the island. Many hotels there don't have parking, but there are public lot. Lyon has so much to offer (Basilica, great restaurants, beautiful architecture). You can do better in Lyon!

Last minute booking for Europe....
We booked three days after our team Saracens won their semifinal of the European Championship and were drawn to play the final against Racing 92 of Paris and we were hard pushed to find a hotel near the Parc Olimpique in Lyon where the game was played. We booked The Hotel Ariana and found it easily with sat nav having driven from Geneva. The hotel was clean, with small rooms, plenty of hot water and excellent towels - large and fluffy. The rooms were old fashioned, but had USB plugs. I gave the hotel 4 stars as a very reasonably priced and clean 3 star hotel. There was no room safe, but a mini-bar and we did not eat breakfast in the hotel which was on offer as was breakfast in the room. The most important plus was underground parking.
