Víkendový romantický pobyt
Krásn? strávený romantický víkend v tomto hotelu. P?kné ubytování ve velkém pokoji s balkonem a výhledem na údolí KV. Bazén a wellness p?ímo v hotelu + jsme využili i t?ech procedur (koupel, parafin a zábal)-naprosto perfektní. M?li jsme snídan? a ve?e?e, jídlo dobré a velký výb?r formou švédských stol?. Hotel stojí na kopci kousek nad kolonádou a je p?ístupný i p?es spodní starší ?ást hotelu, odkud nás výtah vyvezl nahoru do nové ?ásti hotelu - odpadává nep?íjemné chození do kopce ??
D?kujeme za p?íjemný víkend.

a disappointing experience
Our experience with the Caijkovskij Palace hotel was quite a disappointment. Let me start with the good things. The hotel is well located on a quiet street, five minutes walk from the Promenade. The building is nice, the premises are well maintained. Parking is scarce in KV, the hotel itself has no parking, but if you book in advance it can be arranged at a nearby hotel and this was convenient. Internet is free and works fine. Breakfast was included in the price, it was OK, but it's scheduled 7:30 to 9:30, and when some food runs out in the second hour there is no replacement. Coffee is very bad. A more serious problems is the fact that the hotel seems designed for spa packages, and there is no spa facilities, baths, or massages availability for customers who did not buy the whole package (excepting the much more expensive Thai massages). Another major problem is the difficulty of communicating with the hotel staff in other language than Czech or Russian. The reception staff know only very basic English, we had question and complaints and could not get satisfactory answers. We had problems with cleaning in our rooms - for two days in a row the room was not cleaned, towels were not replaced, garbage was not disposed, toiletries were not refreshed. We complained at the reception but we had problems to communicate with the receptionist who knew very little English and we had to escalate the issue to the hotel manager. Eventually the third day the room was cleaned, but we received no explanation, no compensation, no excuses.

OK - but plenty of space to im....
Overall the hotel is nice. The rooms are decent, the sauna is fine and clean.
Vendule our receptionist was very helpful.
The city itself is beautiful but terribly boring. No good restaurants nor bars. The only visitors to the city are Russians and a few Germans. If you look for action or excitement, come for a day trip but no need to stay overnight.
However here a few shortfalls of the hotel:
- If you come by car, make sure to ask in advance for a parking permit as you may be fined by local police otherwise
- breakfast is very weak
- the smell from the restaurant is horrid, and effects all floors
- wifi internet is ok but not necessarily fast
- the hotel has 12 floors and you may have to wait up to 4 minutes for the elevator to come as they are not properly programmed
- the night receptionist was a disaster, she had no clue about anything and was unfriendly

Nice hotel. No complaints. Meals served three times a day. Parking is in a hard to get to location. Karlovy Vary is a beautiful and unique city but if you aren't there for the spas there's not much else.

Room was very nice, service wa....
We checked in into Cajkovskij Palace and had a corner apartment. That was very nice. Apart from that, there are many things for improvement. The second day we had a treatment where we came a bit later because of the place confusion (they won't tell you where you have your treatments at check in). So the lady seemed angry with us, and created unpleasant, tense atmosphere. We had the same person for massage too, unfortunatelly. The food is very average. I mean you will choose, but they could try harder for those 4*!!! Besides, the cooks /staff would just serve themselves in front of you from the buffet! I found this very inappropriate and unprofessional.
