Hotel Slavia Brno
The Slavia is, as others have said, very centrally located and reasonably priced.
Staff (especially Hannah on reception) are superb and speak good English.
Being in the centre it is very noisy (from outside, and if you had a large school party staying whilst you are there, as we did, inside as well - they were banging doors etc. all night!). There is no A/C so you have to keep the windows open to keep the temperature down.
Rooms are very dated and in need of refurbishment - e.g. proper shower not that thing 75cm above the bath floor, meaning crouching down is a must to keep clean - I am over 6ft tall so it is very difficult.
The restaurant though is good when open, but there is no bar meaning you cannot get drinks after it has closed.

Great value and very central
Almost at the end of the main square in Brno, it would be hard to find a place nearer the beating heart of the city. All the attractions and the bars and restaurants are just a few minutes away - or at the worst a few minutes tram ride.
The rooms are spacious and solidly rather than stylishly fitted out. There is a very pleasant bar on the ground floor where you can gather your crew together before strolling down to the centre

The pure city centre, sizable ....
The hotel Slavia is in the right city centre. Price seems to be reasonable for location like this. The bad is very sizable and comfortable. Some furniture is dated but clean and working. Some places in the hotel Slavia keeps the style and architecture from the beginning of the past century. I like that. Staff very helpful.

Old fashion business type
Good location in the center, nice view onto the street. Parking lots are very limited. The bed is very comfortable. TV programmed only Czeh channels. I was more than satified with the breakfast. Price is reasonable. Paying options are flexible.

Difficult to find better than ....
Very impressed with this hotel. I would say the rrom was pretty much ideal for me. Sizeable and comfortable. Windows able to open, radiators controllable, enough hangers, safe, wifi, minibar, tv, comfortable bed, decent bathroom, good easy chairs. If I had to give negatives, it would be that the pillows were gigantic and the toilet seat was a bit cheap plastic.
I loved the style of the hotel stairs. The corridor decor were a bit tired looking but updating could spoil the feel of the hotel.
Staff were helpful when I needed assistance.
Breakfast not out of the ordinary although good coffee and plenty of choice. Bread was disappointing, especially since the breakfast room looked out on a tradition bread shop.
On the one day I arrived towards the 10am deadline, the coffee had run out and the display looked a bit tatty.
Still, even with the few negatives given here, this is the place to which I would return if I were in Brno again (maybe with a travel pillow).
