Not a 5 star
Stayed here from 12 mn to 8 am as a stop over for a short sleep over as part of a group tour. The hotel was big but quite old. Standard room was quite big but the room was old and not so clean. Bed skirt was heavily stained, luggage rack had a tear and work desk chair was no longer suitable to sit on. There was also no mini bar ref set up (maybe pulled out because we were part of a tour group). TV was old box type and no English channels were available.
Positive: Although I did not meet a staff who speaks English, I really felt the hospitality and courtesy from all of the employees I encountered and this was a friendly place in China. Breakfast area at the lobby was spacious and a there were lots of choices for food and beverage. Also noticed a piano in the lobby that guests could use and it was a nice experience.
Bed mattress was hard but comfortable to sleep at. A/C was cool and hot shower was consistent.
This hotel is generally a tour group hotel now and is ok if you are only sleeping over.

Aboex Travel and Tours booked us to this hotel as part of the three-city package. The package was amazingly affordable - 15k for 4 cities, Hongkong, Shenzhen, Zhuhai and Macau - so we did not expect a lavish accommodation. We were amazed by the big and extravagant room.
Bathroom - big, with hot and cold shower, bath tub, free toiletries including a shaver, free use of blow drier. Awkward glass wall from where you can see and be seen from the entire room.
Bed, pillows and linens - the best I have ever slept in. Big pillows, comfy bed, smells good too!
Windows - big and bright
View - just old buildings, nothing thrilling about this
Breakfast - well, Chinese
Staff - nice and friendly judging from all the smiling and bowing - they do not speak english.
Love always, Jojo

The Good, The Bad and The Ugly
We went here with a touring group and upon leaving our coach our senses were assaulted by the smell of sewer and trash. The street was littered with them and we found it appalling. Then when we arrived at the hotel lobby we saw a huge group of scary-looking middle aged men staring at us like we were zoo animals. There were like fifty of them and I felt great that our group had men, because they look like the kind of folks who would sell a lady to white slavery. Turns our that they were the Chinese mafia. There were also military men guarding the elevators with their big guns. I think we were just too tired to get that scared and went to our suite.
The suite was nice it has a king bed, four fluffy pillows, full bath with great tub. I just find it peculiar that there was a pair of gas masks in the closet. We enjoyed our sleep! The breakfast was good too. There was a selection of breads and jams. I love the way they cooked the vegetables and they had a hotpot section where you can choose your noodles and veggies, cook it for you and afterwards you can season it with your choice of spices or broth. They have a salad bar too.

Stay quality - Average
Overall the stay quality was average.
Good for business trip because have free WIFI.
The restaurant (breakfast) is quite small size.
Especially during the tour group. The waitress is helpless to get a table.
