Value for money
This was my third stay at The Regency Hotel, it is a fantastic location and great value for money. The staff although they don't speak a lot of English try their hardest., one particular morning at breakfast the waiter was having trouble understanding what we wanted so he phoned a friend who could speak English to help us.
I would certainly stay here on my next trip to Shenzhen.

Booked this hotel since i found a good deal in Agoda and since we knew that we'll be arriving late at Shenzhen, we decided to stay at this hotel for 1 night then transfer to a much expensive hotel for the next few days.
As soon as we stepped in the Hotel, no one greeted us or even carried our luggages to the front desk. What's worse it that the front desk ladies didnt know how to speak English so we made good use of sign languages and Yes/No to communicate.
As soon as we arrived at the 5th floor on our way to our room, my sister and I began to panic as the hallways had this eerie feeling and some lights were not on/flickering. We thought we were in some horror movie with someone trying to follow us around, the journey to our room was unbearable.
To make matters worse, when we arrived in our room we thought of catching up on some news or something to entertain us. Unfortunately, the TV is completely broken, not only that but the lamps were not working as well. I called the front desk to complain about this and since they speak little english, i literally had to use all the adjectives/nouns/symbols/ all the words to describe what TV is, i even spelled it for her but she just laughed it off for the whole 15mins and didnt even bothered to have someone check what was wrong.
IN SHORT, I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS HOTEL AT ALL. Better stay in a hotel that has good reviews and make sure that the staff can speak good english or otherwise it would be one hell of a ride.

Very good name, very creepy an....
Regency Hotel SZ is situated in a good location facing the major road that can be accessible from public transport. however, the room and the walkway in our floor lvl5 was really bad and poorly maintained.. It was really creepy with low yellow lighting and not so pleasant deco everywhere...
ground floor is a little dodgy with 90s deco and I this is not what I expected at all..
overall, the price is good, the standard is not there...price wise yes, comfort wise= no

Regency hotel Shenzhen
My husband and our three teenage children stayed 4 nights at the Regency hotel. We arrived at the hotel at 1.30am, no problems checking in even though the staff didnt speak much english. The rooms were very good value for money. There was a very stale cigarette smell in the rooms, but we purchased a can of air freshner and managed to get rid of the smell. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
This was our first trip to china and we would certainly stay at this hotel again.
Having done a lot of research on the internet before our trip, I was a little worried about pickpockets in shenzhen.
On our first day there we took a taxi to windows of the world, my husband left his backpack in the taxi, not being able to explain to anyone what had happened we realised we would probably not see it again. The next morning the taxi driver returned it to the hotel. The contents were all there. We were very pleased to get it back and with the honesty of the cab driver.

Nice Foyer, the only nice part....
The Foyer is possibily the best part of this hotel. It gives a good impression of what to expect, that is until the elevator doors open and you are left wondering if you have been transpoted to another destination in another time long, long, ago?
The hallways are dark & dingy and the dampness can be both seen and smelt, this is the same inside the rooms.
This hotel needs major repairs & renovations. The Western menu is non existent for breakfast.
Staff are freindly & helpful, the bar is nice if this helps. I could not recommend it for a stayover.
