well maintained hotel
clean and neat hotel in a good location. the shanghai ferry and china town is just a few minutes walk. the breakfast is good but with more chinese options and less of western. this is my second time in this hotel and i've stayed here 5 years before and is still maintained neat and clean. felt very safe no disturbances. you have a convenience store in the lobby. there are few more eateries and convenience stores in the walking distances. pizza hut and mc donalds is available at china town which is a 5 mis walk from the hotel. a good choice for non chinese ppl.

1 night stay on our first visit to Shanghai. Hotel within walking distance to The Bund.
Lobby on the 8th floor had a strong smoking smell. The room was clean & spacious. Service was fast when we complained that we couldn't open the door after we got back from our walk.
Breakfast was mediocre. Overall it's ok for short stay.

Ok hotel but very poor breakfa....
Stayed here for 1 night as we arrived back to Shanghai early due to bad weather & the hotel we were due to stay in the following night had no vacancy & rang this hotel for us which was up the road from them. Hotel was fair room & bed was clean & bathroom was fine plenty of hot water. It was in the area we wanted to stay as underground was near & plenty of places to eat & small outside night market with street food. Very odd way of getting to reception you have to go up in the lift & if like us in error you go further up you're into this maze of indoor market traders. My downside was the breakfast...it was awful...eggs had been fried & left on cold saucers hardly any western food coffee was coloured warm water we were lucky we got some toast as they were clearing the tables while we sat & we were not late by any way for breakfast. Also the staff were not very pleasant. Would not stay again

Two nights is enough..
On a group tour for 8 days and the 3 of us stayed here on the 1st and last night of our trip. This hotel is in need of a major refurbishing. The door to our room could not be locked from the inside, the furniture show obvious sign of wear and tear. The bathroom is the same, dull and old. Our extra bed was small, shaky and one half collapsed when my daughter tried to get up. For the breakfast, it was alright for average joes like us.
