I must have been either lucky,....
I have stayed at this hotel twice, with a girlfriend of mine for visits to Shanghai, once now in June 2009, and once back in March 2009. Both times we have gotten big rooms with twin bed, with neither bugs nor blood anywhere in site. The only bad thing is that there is some mold on the bottom of the shower curtain, and the curled up shower mat is black. But just don't touch them and you are fine. I have never stayed in a hotel room (i dont have to share a bathroom with no one, nor a bunk bed) for 260 RMB per room per night. In shanghai, this is a rediculous good prize!!! This is a GREAT price, especially when sharing with a friend. 5 min walk from the bund, no problem getting taxis. There is a conveniant store downstairs selling drinks, cigrattetes, noodles, toiletries and chips. I am going there for a 3rd time this weekend!

A dated hotel in need of a goo....
The hotel is in a good location - 5 min walk to the bund and 10 min walk to Nanjing Road although through a few dodgy roads! The rooms are quite noisy as it is near a main road.
Our room was very damp and was in desperate need to redecoration and a good scrub in the on sweet bathroom. The hotel had a slightly seedy feel to it as well.
The staff were pleasant enough but speak NO english so get a good map before you go.

Don't be con, this hotel is al....
I always very careful when come to booking hotel. I always logon to TripAdvisor to check on the reviews. At first couldn't find Bund Wave and went ahead to book for 3 nights stay. To my horror, the chinese name for Bund Wave is Yin Bo, looking at the enlarged hotel photo. Suppose to be 3 star but turn out to be only 2 star. Scarrrrry!

Bed Bugs!!! Stay Away!!! Awful....
We were booked for two nights with this hotel as part of a larger China tour. We are backpackers - not picky, not difficult travelers. I found a bug crawling after the first night when I was taking a shower. When I asked my roomate about it she noticed about 10 blood splotches all over her white sheets. When we looked closer we saw several bugs crawling around the sheets and bedcover.
When we explained the situation to the front desk, they were indifferent at best. They couldn't even muster a "sorry about that, " or "We apologize for the inconvenience." Instead, they told our group leader that "there are no bed bugs in China" and that they didn't understand what the big deal was.
They offered for us to switch to another room - no thanks. We changed hotels and paid out of our own pocket so we can sleep bug free!! We took photos but we're having trouble posting them - sorry.

Not good if you don't have a g....
We booked both this hotel and the HengSheng. After reading the review on Yinbo, we didn't want to take any chances. The two hotels are near each other, and after the experience, would recommend the HengSheng over the Yinbo. However, read my review of the HengSheng, as well. It's not the greatest hotel, but is more Westerner friendly than the Yinbo.
While at the Yinbo, we did see a cockroach crawling on the outside of a guest door, in the hallway.
The nice points of the hotel is that they provide ample hygiene products in nice plastic bottles, not paper/foil packages. Nice touch for a hotel of this lower class. They also provide a free breakfast, though our schedule did not allow us to partake in it, so we do not have comments.
The front staff that we encountered did not speak English.
Room was spacious and clean enough.
