Hotel that caters to foreigner....
This hotel was good. Not amazing, but good. I was (am) here for 3 weeks and there are some good things and bad things.
Good: Wifi (most of the time), bathroom, proximity to subway and bus, buffet breakfast is very good and included in my rate, the garden salad (for dinner), relatively quite room, 7-11 convenience store right next door.
Bad: TV remote didn't work, our actual room wifi (though it was easy to connect to adjoining room), the carpets (especially near corners) were dirty, clock in room didn't work, TV box with foreign channels didn't work (or maybe I needed to pay extra for it...not sure).
I don't get the impression that there are a bunch of other hotel options in this area so for that reason, I would definitely stay here again. It is definitely a decent place. The staff is nice, though I was surprised that they don't speak better English.
The grounds are decent too. We stayed in room 325 which was upstairs and off the main road. Though it is a bit of a walk from the lobby, it was a nice location with a balcony. We caught some decent weather so it was nice to leave the door open while in the room.
If your planning on staying in this part of Shanghai, then this is probably the hotel to stay at. The rooms were comfortable, clean and roomy. Television was limited to 1 English channel, Bloomberg that's it.
