Couple days to waste in Shangh....
Booked Suite. Place seems quiet, in the middle of nowhere really. Suites are spacious and quite cheap too. Rooms are modern, clean and equipped with all what you need if you have couple of days to waste.
It is difficult for me to appraise Chinese food - I have no point of reference you see. Western grub is luckily also available and although not much on offer (couple set menus) it is quite tasty and will keep you going for a while.
Recommended for cheap, clean joint with all you need for short stay. Seems they are looking to get four star recognition - and it should not take long.
Cons - wee bit away from the downtown - but who cares if you are not after sightseeing (won't see much anyway, this smog thing is slowly getting on my t......s).

Comfortable without any extras....
Stayed here for one night. It's about 15 minutes from the metro which is an easy walk. The location of the hotel is fine and the area seems safe but there is a security guard at the door of the hotel 24/7 anyway. Room is great though the higher floors have a much better view (the hotel has 23 floors). However, the fitness centre and swimming pool are both closed indefinitely which is disappointing. There wasn't any notice of this online or in the hotel. The massage centre however is open and is around 400 RMB an hour.

Nice interior, but terrible lo....
The interior of this hotel is great. The rooms are very clean and quiet. The breakfast buffet is very nice, very eclectic. The issue, as others have stated before, is the location. Taxiing into the city will run you over $30 USD one way, and taking the subway is maybe 60 minutes+ to the city centre (including walking time to the station from the hotel). Another thing worth noting is that the little shops and restaurants around the hotel seem to be very geared towards cheating non-Chinese patrons, so you'll have to be extra vigilant. Even the Q-Store (a convenience store chain) inside the hotel tried to run up the price on me. Overall, I wouldn't recommend staying here unless you have commitments in the area.

Faraway from downtown
This hotel was well appointed but relatively far from downtown. The room was very comfortable and very clean. At $60 + tax a night (booked on Agoda) it was good value for money. Breakfast was good but the coffee shop nothing special.
