Almost inside Hongqiao Airport....
This hotel is meant only the brave ones who are transiting through SHA & need to stay very close to terminal 1, just as we required to in order to catch an early morning domestic flight from terminal 1. This is the only real positive as the hotel is 1 minute walk from KFC & just behind the taxi point of the terminal one.
The front lobby look fine but the rooms & the bathrooms are in dilapidated condition with carpets smelling,
I am giving this hotel 2 points - one for its excellent location almost within terminal one of SHA & other for its Value as even in its stinking & dilapidated room condition, the value seems justified given that the room tariff was within 30 USD that too inclusive of breakfast. We did not try the breakfast as it was only Chinese dishes but it seemed substantial.

Cheap and Convenient for the T....
If you are here to experience Shanghai in any sort of memorable way, this is probably not the hotel for you. If you would like to sleep in the prone position as oppose in a McDonald's restaurant, then this hotel might fit your needs.
I stayed here on a 12 hour layover between Shanghai and Kuming, China. It smells of musky air fresheners, the rugs are worn, the room itself is dreary, but it's cheap and a more comfortable alternative to sleeping in the airport - well, maybe.
I was solicited for a massage from a guy standing by the elevators. Just sayin.

Don't ignore this review, it n....
Having lived in China for a year I frequently stayed in Shanghai hotels, I have written many reviews on Chinese hotels and fortunately most of them have been positive.
Although it was roughly a year ago when I stayed here (but I would happily chance a 1000 yuan bet that it hasn't changed a bit since then!) I would personally treat this as less of a review and more as a warning - do not stay here.
I stayed for just one night after arriving at the Hongqiao airport before meeting my girlfriend on the other side of town the next morning who was flying in to visit, firstly it must be noted that Hongqiao has a number of hotels, which despite being slightly more pricey, will be far better value.
If you think the location is good because you are in an airport hotel, forget that too as this hotel is located outside the terminal one entrance. This terminal is smaller, older and mainly for domestic flights - the nice new terminal is Terminal two, located on the other side of the runway and this terminal has considerably better hotel options.
Upon arrival there are some interesting characters hanging around - not too unusual for China but there was a sinister feel about the place, a 100 Yuan deposit for a key (Not a card) and then you can proceed (begrudgingly) to your room. The corridors are terribly kept and there are lights missing/flickering everywhere, as well as wallpaper which is very obviously and obtrusively peeling, it really looks like more of a squat or "crack den" than an actual hotel where one can get a good nights sleep.
Things sadly get worse upon entering your room - the sink had fallen into the bracket and was leaving a black sludgy hole around its circumference, the shower was more brown than white (as was the shower head). Lights were clinical and poor - didn't want to shave/use tap water to brush my teeth. Very old furnishings in the room include a boxy television and small single bed. Fortunately the sheets on my bed were clean but there was a light above my head and after searching for 15 - 20 minutes decided to admit defeat - I couldn't turn this thing off so had to sleep as best I could with the light on all night!
I was very happy to check out of this hotel, please save your time and money. It is genuinely cheaper and more pleasant to rent a private room in a hostel in Shanghai (there are many of these and they are of great quality and value for money). If you think for a second you are getting any convenience or value out of booking this place then eradicate that thought immediately!
Worst hotel I have ever stayed in.

Don't sleep here!
Old and not clean room. Old bathroom. Noise. Not sealed window.
