Fantastic boutique hotel in a ....
This hotel is super charming and provides a taste of old Shanghai. My room is tastefully decorated, spacious, and has a nice large bathroom with clawfoot tub. The breakfast is also quite satisfying with many choices and strong coffee! It's a great hotel at a great value.

Beautiful Boutique Hotel - Per....
Aaron's House is a beautiful small boutique hotel in a great location. The hotel decor is beautiful with a gorgeous grand staircase (along with an elevator). Our room was extremely large. There is a safe in the room and wifi at the hotel. The bathroom had both a bathtub and a separate rain-shower stall. There are many restaurants in the area.
The staff was very accommodating. We were delayed due to Chinese Immigration at the Port, and were running late for our private tour of Shanghai (our guide was meeting us at our hotel). Our 2 friends who were touring with us and were staying at a different hotel in the Pudong area did not have time to stop at their hotel first, and Aaron's House happily stored their luggage for them until our tour ended in the evening.
We were also allowed a late checkout the following day since we had a late flight. Breakfast was included in the room rate, which was convenient. There were both Western and Chinese choices.
It is about a 10 minute walk to the Shanghai National Museum (fantastic museum) and People's Square. In the other direction, it is a 15 minute walk to YuYuan Gardens and Bazaar.

Did not see this coming!
As business travel always involves an element of surprise when it comes to the hotel, I was taking the taxi from the airport to the hotel ready for anything. However, even with a mindset like that, I was not prepared for what Aaron's House had to offer.
The rooms are NOTHING like you could expect from a hotel in Shanghai centre and feel more like a Bed&Breakfast in the UK! The bathrooms are spectacular and the hotel interior has that vintage feel to it. Central location - EvERYTHING is close and the breakfasts actually offer a decent range of "western" options and thats always welcome when in China.
Would definitely recommend!

We just moved out of Shanghai to Suzhou and I had to go back for a few days for an exhibition. I booked this place based on the proximity to Dashijie metro station and the price.
It's in a great location just off Xizang Nan Lu not far from People's square and a short taxi ride to Xintandi. I would consider it close to the perfect location for your base of operations to explore the city.
They upgraded me to a ridiculously large, well decorated room with a huge bathroom. My wife and our baby son came and met me for a 2nd and 3rd night and we really enjoyed it. Great breakfast buffet although the coffee was a little funky, no problem because there's a Costa and a Starbucks on the corner.
The service was as great as the location.
Great hotel folks! Keep up the good work!

Ordinary hotel with some posit....
Now that chinese prices have reached european ones, this changes any criteria for comparison and judgement.
The location is very good and the atmosphere is old style which ia always appreciated by european travellers.
The rooms are clean and the personnel, although not very fluent with English, was very kind and prompt.
However, 120 euro per night prevents me from giving more than three stars.
