Don't Confuse Bad with Other G....

Stay away from this dark and dreary Regalia complete with workers on scaffold looking in. Rude and unhelpful reception amidst a noisy restaurant celebration. Don't open fridge--it smells. No sympathy from front desk. Alas, forgot to bring two breakfasts. Tried to cancel second night, but no deal. Hot tub not bad. Not far from other Nanjing sites but well worth staying away from this one.

Small luxury Hotel

Positives of this small luxury hotels are; great view of Qinhuai river and the city wall!, close to Confucius temple area, near Gate of China, free parking, hot spring style bath pit inside room. Downsides (during our stay) are; hotel under maintenance (literally the whole road was under construction and difficult to find this hotel, thanks to Auto Navi!), no spa, no western breakfast. Our feeling was this hotel is not close to a resort! Very friendly hotel staff though! at least two men at front desk speak English.

Holy moly fantastic!

Superior river view suite: sooooo reasonably priced, amazing bath-tub, delicious breakfast in bed - and incredibly accommodating staff (we'd lost credit card, needed to change flights, change travel plans - all last minute anc v stressful for us ignorant westerners!). The staff here helped us to solve everything!! Totally to recommend:)

Considering the price, just av....

This hotel undoubtedly has an amazing location. It is quiet and calm, away from the hubbub of the city, just 10 minute walk to the nearest metro station for convenient access to the city center. It is a beautiful hotel with a southeast asian vibe. It seems like it once was a 5 star hotel, but now everything is slightly broken or slightly off. The refrigerator buzzed incredibly loudly making it impossible to sleep so say goodbye to any cool drinks in the morning. The gorgeous bath tub's spigot was clogged so water sprayed in all directions and took quiet a while to fill up. Nothing too serious, but everything was just a little bit broken, which is fine with me normally, but when you are paying so much money, you want everything to be perfect. Secondly, this place is not foreigner friendly, be prepared to face a staff where no one speaks English and a very Chinese breakfast buffet.

Gem of a place in the 1865 Tec....

Spent 4 nights here in August. A touch of Bali in Nanjing. Very friendly and helpful staff. Huge rooms with massive bathrooms including a walk-in shower/wet room area and an enormous bath. Very quiet area apart from regular train horns but this did not prevent good night sleep in comfy beds. We didn't try the spa and buffet breakfast was fine - mostly catering for Asian guests but ok nonetheless. The situation in the dining room looked over the garden area and the adjacent river across to the old city wall. Easy to get around or to take a cab to/from there although about 20 minute walk to the nearest subway station. Free wifi and clean rooms. Would highly recommend.
