Attractive Hotel Near Old Town
The Indigo was one of several very nice hotels I stayed in during this trip to China. The room was quite large, well appointed and extremely clean. The room was upstairs in block 9 directly behind the reception area. The hotel also offered me a first floor room in a different block but was not as nice, so I elected to remain in this room. There is not an elevator but the bell staff carried my luggage for me. The staff was very friendly and efficient if a staff member did not speak English would find someone who could. I did eat both breakfast and dinners in this hotel. The breakfast buffet had Asian, European and American type breakfast items and was very good. The dinner menu was principally Thai food with some Western foods available but no steak; you had to go across the street to the Intercontinental Hotel for a wider selection of Western foods, a KFC was also within walking distance. In the morning I was surprised to see the top of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain visible at the hotel. Jade Dragon Snow Mountain is a mountain massif or small mountain range in Yulong Naxi Autonomous County, Lijiang, in Yunnan province, China. Its highest peak is named Shanzidou (Chinese: ???) and is 5,596 m (18,360 ft) above sea level. This range adjoins the Himalayas.

Excellent hotel on the edge of....
Excellent hotel and staff. Rooms are very spacious and set out nice in villa type buildings. Amenities are also good in the room with tea and coffee machine, safe, plenty of bottled water and slippers etc. Rooms are done in the horse style also so have some quirky things such as the horseshoe hangers. Location is good as you can walk straight into the old town. Everything was lovely including the very friendly and pleasant staff.

Spacious accommodation in best....
Spent 3 nights in this hotel as part of a China Odyssey Tours private guided tour of Yunnan. The siting of the establishment borders the world heritage listed Lijiang Ancient town. You simply walk out of the foyer and you enter a world of fascination , Shop fronts selling food, crafts, antiques and artifacts which include many examples from the local Naxi population are everywhere. The superior rooms are very spacious and very well equipped. All staff are friendly ,helpful and courteous while hotel management was efficient. Of particular note is the positioning of the venue for pick up to visit sites away from the ancient town. Our wonderful guide Alice of China Odyssey Tours found easy access for these excursions. All in all a very satisfying experience.

Quirky, quiet retreat at a per....
Nice adn quirky design which will delight horse lovers. Rooms are stylish and well throught through, but apart from a small restaurant and an empty lounge/library space downstairs, there is not much in terms of facilities. However, one can use the Inter-Continental next door for gym, pool, restaurants, spa etc. The best thing about the hotel is the silence, combined with being at the edge of the Old City, and with the IC next door, one does not need the facilities on site. We stayed at the Aman afterwards, at twice the price, and actually preferred the Indigo in terms of layout and location.
