When we had a layover in Guangzhou we booked this hotel via a chinese website we usually never have trouble with. We chose Ibis because it's an international brand so we expected smooth service and clean rooms. The rooms were clean, but the experience was rather bad.
First of all it was very hard getting to the hotel. We chose the hotel as it seemed close to the airport. But it's not on the expressway, so in the end it took us 30' to get there at a cost of about 15 usd in taxi fees. And when the driver called the hotel to get directions they didn't manage to give clear directions. Good thing there's google maps for mobile!
Then when we arrived to the hotel, turned out they didn't have our reservation. First time that happens to me when I used C-trip to book a hotel!
In the end ctrip called Ibis and we got our rooms. But instead of 2 family rooms with 3 beds - as we had booked - we got 2 standard rooms with only 1 queen size.
Another trip to the reception and a call with ctrip and about 15' later we were finally shown to the family rooms we booked.
Next morning we wanted to take breakfast at around 0900h... but not much was left.
A little toast, some yoghurt and an egg. Coffee machine was broken.
Going back we found a way to take a cab to north railway station (1 usd) and from there there's a bus service.
But all in all rather poor service.
On the return trip we booked another hotel along metro line 3 which also arranged pick up service at the airport. The hotel was slightly less clean, but the stay was much better and that time we actually managed to get into town and back within 5 hours.

Improvement on hotel facilitie....
They cannot find my booking on my arrival. Not much variety on the bfast and tv programms.no tv channels on my second night. The staff told me all the tv programms at huadu were affected. No air con is working in my rooms.

Hotel with Average Service
I am surprise to see the hotel room when i see there is cockroach on the bad and whole night i am not able to sleep after watching this. First i am surprise to see the 3 star hotel have this kind of cleanliness. I just stay for one night as i booked for 3 nights and the staff not even say sorry for this they only surprise like they also seen this first time. Its very bad Accor Group hotels are never like this.
