Old hotel, located inside. everything is old here. AC is there. 5 minutes walk able from Metro station. Room was not in a good condition. Budget Hotel. recommended only if you want to sleep in the night and rest of the time you are outside the hotel.

Beijing housing commission.
We should known it was a bad hotel and area when our taxi driver wouldn't leave us until we had checked in.
The pictures on here are not correct. Our travel agent had organised this hotel and they tried to charge us again and weren't expecting us. The room which was in another building and 6 flights up, no lift, half the hall lights weren't working. As two girls traveling it wasn't a positive start. the room smelt like smoke, the bathroom was covered in mold and nothing in the room worked.
We could of put up with all that for a our few nights in Beijing but we didn't feel safe staying there or even leaving our stuff there.
The location was really bad and not close to anything. We booked into the Novotel the next day.
This hotel might be ok for chinese tourists but was horrible for us. The photos loaded onto here were nothing like our experience.

Still there after all these ye....
I stayed at the Purple Deagon Hotel (Zi Long) several years ago - must be close to 8 plus years ago the second time, and the first time was ten years ago. I travelled with three of my children both times, second trip we met up with a family that had never been to China. Overall, it was a good experience. We managed to walk to Forbidden City, Tiannamen Square, shops etc and did not have much difficulty with taxis despite the fact the hotel is hidden down an alley.
At that time foreigners were not really supposed to stay there, however with a chinese nameand passable mandarin we managed. Staff at the time were friendly if rather confused as to some of our requests.
My now grown daughters have said if they ever return to Beijing they would stay there again - as would I. The fact they have survived this long, despite some grunginess we saw then, is pretty good. On the negative side we have never come to like Beijing.

difficult to find located alon....
this hotel seems to be located in remote part of beijing although it is actually located in the heart of the city. taxis have difficulty finding the address and even our tour agent had a hard time locating the hotel to fetch us for the scheduled tour. the receptionists barely speak any english. the rooms are clean but smells weird. we came in late in the evening and the lobby lights were switched off only to see the receptionists sleeping.
