Not much good to say
First of all , we stayed here over Chinese New Year, so it is only expected that the shop, restaurant etc. we’re closed, that was to be expected! Taking the hotel by itself, I have nothing good to say apart from this place apart from: it was next to a metro and the rooms were warm and clean. I am really not that hard to please but we had cold water on the first morning, leading to 2 staff coming up rummaging around in the (small) bathroom for 20 mins while I looked on in my pajamas, kind of eager to have a shower and get out for the day! Staff spoke no English really. Fair enough. But when I wanted to find a pharmacy, they didn’t have a clue where one was, even when it was translated. There were some toiletries in the bathroom, which we used a little. Didn’t need them, but we assumed they were free, considering there was no indication they weren’t and that stuff usually is in hotels! This cost 40 yuan. No English channels, no mini bar, no tea or coffee. Oh and they window room, which we paid a little extra for to have a window, may as well not have had anything, as it had a wall pretty much up against it. Stay in a hostel if you want cheap accommodation in Beijing.

Great for the price
Great central location, walking distance to the Forbidden City, or very easy by subway. You usually get what you pay for and this place is cheap, but it's giving more than most backpackers or hostile' with a higher price. Highly recommend rooms 115 or 116. Outside in a hutong, more private and similar money. The staff are extremely helpful, kind and generous with information.

Good Value, clean and cheap
Myself and girlfriend stayed here for 5 nights. Was cheap and clean.
Bathroom is bit small with shower above toilet?
Very good for access to the subway which made seeing everything in Beijing very easy.

would not recommend
It seems most of the positive reviews refer to the similarly named Saga Youth Hostel - this IS NOT the same place.
Hotel staff didn't speak any English - had already charged me in advance and then insisted on charging again and taking a deposit. Room was cold with no heating and the bathroom was riddled with mold - metal fixtures rusty.
Bed clearly hadn't been changed and was extremely hard. Pictures are very misleading. Rooms are spartan and run down.

Good locatiob and budget hotel
Location is not far from subway station. And that station doesn t have lift. You must carry your heavy luggage and walk up the stair to the street level. And this hotel is 40mins walk to Beijing west railway station. The alley has traffic police station and hotel locate in residence area. Room is clean and shared bathroom also clean. Overall rating is fairly good
