Excellent find, very good hote....
We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel. While not a luxury hotel, for the low price it was quite nice and comfortable. It is right down the street from the subway and there are many restaurants and shops within walking distance. It is just a couple of miles from major tourist locations like the Forbidden City. The room was comfortable and the hotel breakfast was quite good with many vegetarian options.

The location is really convenient, as it's right by a subway stop and a ton of stores and restaurants. The staff seemed pretty friendly and helpful as well. The room was not so great, however. We had a basement room without a window, which would have been fine, but the room had a funny smell and it got really hot. With no controls for the temperature, except to turn the heat on and off, we had to keep the door cracked open. The beds were also very hard, and mine had hairs under the sheets.

Pros: Fourth floor doublebed room is quite spacious with a desk, en-suite with bathtub. The AC works wonderfully. Laminated floor. Clean. Breakfast buffet has brown toast bread and some other continental options, as well as Chinese breakfast options. Enjoyed the potato wedges. Didn't really have much to do with the staff.
Excellent location, only a minute walk to the subway. Supermarket and other shops just around the corner, too (nearest supermarket is a 7 eleven).
Cons: Breakfast starts at 7 and if you don't come early, you may not have many options as they don't seem to fill up anything. Wifi on the fourth floor cuts out a lot (used with a notebook, better on a phone). A third floor room for two (two single beds) is quite small.

Great location, descent hotel
Me and my boyfriend stayed in this hotel for a week. We chose Ping an fu for its location which was great. You can easily walk to a lot of places of interest. Otherwise the subway line 5 is just 50 meters away. We stayed in a twin room in the hotels basement, no windows, which did not bother us. The room was descent, the bathroom was clean, the beds were hard, but I’ve experienced the same kind of beds in both Thailand and Taiwan so it seems like standard for Asian budget hotels.
To sum it up: if you are looking for a budget hotel with great location this is a good option. But don’t expect any luxury, you get what you pay for.
