For Chinese only.
This hotel is not equipped for foreign visitors. No one can speak English, the internet log in is only in Chinese. The concierge when we asked to have a taxi told us to walk. Thevrestaurants close at 9pm and we arrived from our flight at 20.50to be turned away. There is no room service. Room is good and breakfast acceptable with many choices. Subway is 2 minutes away but at the end of the day, they are not equipped or capable of looking after foreign travellers.

It is getting behind
It used to be the hot spot years ago but it is getting behind, in terms of both quality service and facility/conditions. Un-desirable odour or smell along corridors etc and derelict carpet in rooms were not expected. it has totally lost its earlier glory and splendour, unfortunately.

medium priced hotel - nice pla....
Central, comfortable, clean, medium priced, not luxury but good quality for the price. Nice enough breakfast, enough western food to satisfy and plenty of Chinese food. lots of fruit. Nice view of a lake - great for an early morning walk.

Sleep like a rock -- not.
This has to be the worst bed I have ever slept on. Felt as though I was sleeping on a plank. No springs and no padding. I didn't get the replacement I requested, but at least they folded a blanket a couple of times and put that under the sheet. As expected, within an few minutes the blanket had compressed and made little difference.
However, we were so busy with our conference schedule and so tired after each day of meetings and events that I eventually slept well enough.
By Chinese standards the rooms were acceptable. Not four star, but clean enough. It is the detail that they miss in China: grubby shower doors and floors, but as I said, better than most.
The staff spoke little English but were very helpful indeed. Pleasant and willing to try and understand sign language. And they searched high and low to find me an adaptor to fit my computer. I had the standard large 3 pin, but the rooms have only the small three pin.
BBC (which blacked out when someone somewhere didn't like the content of the news) and CNN.
Air-conditioning worked, thank heaven!
No coffee, only green and jasmine tea in the room. I could, of course, have asked, but knew I would get reasonable coffee at breakfast.
A fascinating silver, white and turquoise wedding in the ballroom was simply fascinating to watch from a distance. A Hollywood production to say the least. I was handed a little paper "goodie" bag by the organisers when they saw my interest.
I would go back, but with the proviso that I get a Western-style mattress.

This is not a four star hotel,....
Don't let the fine pictures on their website fool you: this is not a 4 star hotel, far from it. The rooms were really stained and worn out. All the surfaces need cleaning. Especially the carpets were awful. They claim to be a non smoking hotel but I had to change my room because it smelled very badly of smoke. The breakfast was large but weird. The coffee reminded more tea than coffee. The personnel were really nice, but didn't speak english - not even the concierce! The only good thing about this hotel was the location, it was near my conference venue. But stay somewhere else if you have other options.
