My family stayed at this hotel for a few days recently. The hotel was a good 5-star hotel in a popular part of the city. Now with the newer western 5-star hotels nearby (Sheraton, Crowne Plaza, etc.), this hotel is losing its attraction. Its only positive is that it's a 5-five star with the lowest rate. On the negative side, the hotel entrance is awkwardly designed, blocking pathways in all directions except for one where guests have to compete with the automobile traffic to get to the street. I think this is more for the convenience of the hotel security than of the hotel guests. The lobby is cold in December Beijing, and guests can literally feel the chilly air entering the lobby from one of the open doors. Due to its low rate, the hotel attracts tour groups that create a lot of noise early in the morning and late at night. The worst part of the hotel is its bed, really hard - unless you like a hard bed. I have a long list of problems we encountered but the bottom line is I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.
