But that's about it. We also had a breakfast with this room - I can't even remember anything about it! The tour to the Great Wall we booked did not cover all the costs we needed for the day, and the driver was falling asleep on the way back (not the hotel's fault really) and the guide was more interested in flirting with the sleeping driver.

Expensive for quality
It looks like Ok at lounge, but room is quite bad. Shower cannot use and bathroom is dirty. Noted that almost hotel in China require deposit and mostly not speak English.
Location is Ok. You can walk to Qianmen to get Metro or taxi, bus...

Adequate and convenient
This is a basic but clean hotel in an interesting area and within easy reach of the Forbidden City and other attractions. The décor is tired and our shower curtain was too short, so water poured all over the floor but you get what you pay for and the inconveniences are minor.

Crappy hotel, excellent locati....
This hotel is in pretty bad condition; the rooms are old and full of mold - inside the wardrobe, around the sink etc.
Also, the hallways, and to a certain degree the rooms too, smelled of smoke, as a lot of the people staying there actually smoked inside, although it for forbidden, the hotel did nothing about it.
The breakfast is pretty bad too, but tha't maybe to be expected in a cheap hotel.
The staff hardly speaks English, but even though it's annoying, I'm sure that's also the case with many other hotels.
However, the hotel is situated in a cool part of the city. Its in a Hutong, and it's both quaint and rustic, and feels very safe. The the street takes you all the way to the main street, so it's very central and full of restaurants and small shops.
I stayed there with students, but probably wouldn't recommend it for families with young children.

Location is good
This hotel is well located in the hutong region, about 500m walk from the Qain Men walk and within walking distance of Tienenmen but it is grimy, run down and badly in need of painting. The rooms are clean but the toilet and pipes are leaky, the air conditioning temperature cannot be adjusted and the doors don't close properly. The bed linen is clean and the beds, whilst very hard, are adequate. It's like any upkeep on the place has been frozen in the 1960s. We didn't eat here but excellent breakfasts can be had at 365 Inn a short walk down the road.
