The hotel staff can not do enough for you, just outstanding. We stayed at the Marriott in Moscow our first week and the second week we stayed at the Beijing West. The hotel is a drive from the airport and extremely busy streets. We hired a guide for the week as there are many and I would not attempt to navigate through these streets. One day we were dropped off at the cable car entrance to the Great Wall in Badaling as it was awesome, what a ride to the top. We also visited the great zoo and a mini factory that made silk and vases, by hand. In the evening upon our returning to the hotel there were slippers next to the bed on a mat that said, Good Evening. Just a great place and even better staff!!

Great place for extended busin....
I stayed here for a month while traveling on business and they readily upgraded me to a suite due to the length of my stay. The rooms are very luxurious and totally worth the money. The hotel is located a little away from the business district, and hence is surrounded by a lot of good restaurants, parks, shopping areas and spas/salons. The business district is just a 30 Yuan cab ride away. I used to take the bus to work sometimes just due to the sheer convenience and dependability. The hotel has a spa, which is also very good, but a little over priced. Their entrance is from behind the building. The staff is very helpful, and even though they speak only basic English, you'll start valuing this a lot, since it's a total rarity in China. The food is great as well -- local as well as south asian cuisines. All in all, a great place to stay.

A good, clean Marriott.......b....
This hotel is located in a hotel/office complex in West Beijing. I have stayed many times for convenience due to the fact that my company is located in the office part of this complex. However, this hotel does try and make every effort to bring itself in line with usual Marrott standards. The rooms are large with all normal facilities, bathrooms large (however can be prone to normal lacklustre Chinese plumbing issues......either hot water all the time or cold water all the time etc). Super buffet breakfast and excellent gym facilities (free use of the Gym based in the office complex part of building). Staff very friendly and eager to help.
For the tourist traveller this is probably the least desireable area to be based. Its about a 45 minute taxi ride from the main tourist areas of East and North Beijing. The local area around this hotel is mainly local and therefore most restaurants, bars do not have English worded menus or English speaking staff. Most important tip for a traveler at this hotel is:-........for the non-smoker, ensure you reserve a "no-smoking" room and refuse to take anything else if you are told upon check-in that all "no-smoking" rooms are already taken.....they will find one for you eventually! Also, ensure your room does NOT have an interconnecting door to the next room..........typical Chinese built hotels have very thin walls and if you also have an interconnecting door then you will be able to hear exactly what is going on in the next room!

Old world charm and hospitalit....
An ideal hotel for the weary traveller whether on business or tourism. Excellent size rooms that should really be called suites. If you are lucky you could even get a jacuzzi, which is rather good for relaxing after a hard day's work, shopping or sight-seeing. The beds are very comfortable as is the rest of the furniture, arm chairs and settees abound. There is a good sized desk for working at with fast and reliable internet connection. The bathroom, even without the jacuzzi, is spacious and well appointed (one of the rooms I stayed in even had a second separate toilet!). The sound proofing was very good as the traffic on the Ring Road can get very noisy. Great views, from the right rooms, over the City to the mountains beyond.
The staff were very courteous and helpful. There was always someone on hand to help with any problem or situation that arose during my stay, without being obvious or intrusive.
Although I had access to the Executive Lounge, I preferred to breakfast in the public restaurant as the selection of food was definitely above average. The selection covered Asian as well as Western foods and again the staff were always there to help when required (without being pushy or overbearing). They always had time to chat. The only drawback with the restaurant was the bacon - always cooked to a crisp! For lunch and evening meals (if not dining out) it had to be the main restaurant, with a good selection of food available again mixing Asian and Western styles. The Executive Lounge was ideal for snack meals after eating a lot during the day.
Although the hotel is situated to west of Beijing (effectively the wrong side for shopping and sight-seeing) access to the City Centre was easy with a good taxi service; and Tian Yi market was almost within walking distance, this market is less for the tourist so there is good value for money. Yuanmingyuan Park is within walking distance and is ideal fro a quiet relaxing couple of hours.
The dimensions of the public areas gave a serious air of spaciousness, calmness and quiet.

Perfect business stay
Huge business hotel in anonymous area of Beijing. Room was huge, nicely furnished / decorated and well equipped. Unfortunately i did not get time to use the leisure facilities, which appeared to be good (pool, gym etc.) Superb breakfast buffet - one of the best I've had.
