Too expensive for what it offe....

I stayed at the Hotel Valle Nevado with breakfast, lunch and dinner included. The price is expensive if you compare to resorts in other countries but what frustrates me the most is that they should at least try to offer a better service for this price. Food quality on the breakfast and lunch is very low, dinner is better on the a la carte restaurants. Basic drinks are not included on lunch and dinner, an orange juice costs $7 USD for example. Room quality is OK. We met really helpful staff at the hotel such as Fernanda on the ski room and others at the reception however the level of customer service on the ski rental and at one of the restaurants was terrible. I think the lifts infrastructure are good and the best of the region. I would not stay at the Valle Nevado that includes breakfast+lunch+dinner again as the only thing that is worth paying is for the dinner.

Amazing destination!

Valle Nevado has the most beautiful views of snow-capped mountains in the world. With such a magnificent setting, the hotel manages to completely immerse us in a wonderful ski experience. Great service and lovely atmosphere!

Excellent ski hotel

4 days skiing at the highest skiing in the world . The resort has three hotels and we stayed at the hotel Valle Nevado . Excellent ski in to the very helpful boot room and direct to hotel rooms . These were very spacious and well equipped with large beds . There were 5 restaurants to choose from and all were superb food.Staff were very helpful and spoke limited English . We struggled with the altitude but the skiing was great and empty ski runs.Only complaint was in our room the bath plug didn't work so couldn't use the bath. Highly recommended and would love to return there again .

Experience compares to Snowmas....

Mountain has nice long, wide runs with minimum crowds...especially in the morning. The hotel staff is very friendly and intuitive towards our needs. Many food and bar options to keep you interested. Fun atmosphere in the hotel and on the mountain!

All Inclusive Option, locked i....

We arrived in August to ski. There is only one option near Santiago, which includes three mountains. We stayed at the largest mountain and arguably the most popular, Valle Nevado. One company offers the only accommodations at the mountain. They offer three "levels" of service hotels. We stayed at the "premium" hotel, but I suspect other than price there is no real difference, this applies to food as well. As a guest there is no other choice to eat as all food venues, save one are owned and operated by the same conglomerate. What visitors do not realize is the food option, while it appears to offer different dining restaurants, is literally identical down to the bread rolls served at each. The quality of food is cruise ship style poor, especially the "buffet style restaurant" ,and the selection similar to what one would find at the "specialty" restaurants on cruise ships. Similarly drinks are not included and the prices are astronomical. Similar to cruise ships yet again the accommodations are overhyped. We stayed in the premium "Hotel Valle Nevado" and the stay was a disaster. Our rooms were directly under the "French" restaurant which closed at 10 pm, but for some inexplicable reason cleaning continued until 3 am. The first night we thought the racket was a one off thing. Unfortunately it continued with noises resembling movement of heavy furniture being dragged on the floor the second night. Management was not terribly effective or sympathetic. While we were moved for a third night to a different room there was no compensation offered for the severe disruption. As a result we decided to check out a day early and go to Portillo. This is the third example of cruise ship analogy. They didn't want to refund us 1 day of our prepaid stay. After some argument they did promise to do so after talking with the marketing director. They promised a refund 3 weeks AFTER our return to the US. That never happened and thankfully a dispute was filed with the credit card company before the right to do so had expired. Lesson learned, avoid this place if at all possible and think twice about "all inclusive" resorts which can trap you with poor food and even worse service.
