Room super small, internet too slow and staff barely speaks English. Breakfast ok for the generally low standard in Santiago. Location fitted me well this time, but wouldn’t go back if it wasn’t for location.

very small rooms
The rooms are so small, that it's not possible to put 2 suitcases in the room and still have room to move.
We had to climb over each other to reach our place to rest.
The first day we arrived we wanted to have diner.
Because we were with a group of 14 it took a long time, it even took so long, that in the end we did not get the main dish and head to look for an alternative.

Best hotel of the trip
The staff was excellent. We had a very late departure and they arranged for us to keep the room until 8.30 for an extra $50. The rooms were comfortable and the restaurant was cozy with a good breakfast. Good location, what was not to like?

Ok but noisy!
This hotel has a good location, basic standard, good breakfast. The rooms we stayed in (2 different ones on 2 occasions) were strangely laid out with a very large 'hall' area compared to the small size of the room and the bed. Otherwise the room was okay and it was clean. The only really negative thing was the noise. The fridge hummed loudly, the toilet made 'babbling' sounds, a VERY loud fan / air conditioner or something went on early in the morning. Sounds from the street to the point where I thought the window was open when it was closed. Sounds from the lifts in the hallway. A carpet of noise throughout the night.
The second time we stayed here (coming back from a trip to Easter island) we got a voucher for a welcome drink, but there was nobody at the bar. It was about 10 pm so I asked about the opening hours of the bar and the receptionist said 'is the light on? No, well then it's closed'... They obviously knew we were just staying one night and would never get to use the voucher (we didn't get one the first time when we would have been able to)
Otherwise it was good. The door is always locked so they have to let you out and in by pressing a button. Maybe a plus for security conscious visitors.
There's another hotel called Presidente too (looks much fancier) where we were accidentally driven first - this review is for the one also called Tulip Inn.
