Cheap and nice
The owner, Maria, is a very friendly and helpful person. It's a five minute walk to the city center and she has good bikes for free. Wifi is available and the rooms get cleaned every day. The breakfast is included and good as well. The Bathroom is clean and there is a nice inner courtyard to eat and chill.
We really liked it here and can totally recommend it.

Very basic. You get what you p....
Overall is a good basic option if you are on a tight budget. We opted for the room with private bathroom, which by the way didn't have soap or towels. We had to buy our own soap and ask for a couple towels to Susie, the front desk lady. The room door lock didn't work, so even when we thought we had locked our stuff, anyone could've just walked in, luckily most tourists and people in this area are very honest. We never had the chance to try the included breakfast since we got up very early in the morning and left for our tours. I have to mention that the quality of sleep during one of the nights was very poor, there were many dogs barking around the place throughout the night until very early in the morning, when they finally calmed down then a weird and scary noise woke us up, it was like a rat or some kind of rodent scratching the ceiling right above our bed. The noise was unbearable and it wont stop for more than an hour. If you rent a car you can park it in front of the hostel like we did, no problem with that, if you don't have a car then you'll have to walk around a mile on very dusty roads to get to San Pedro main streets. I saw that this hostel had bikes for loan, they also have a common kitchen with a fridge where you can store your food, make sure it is properly labeled. When you have the luck to find someone in the front desk they are very helpful with whatever you need. Besides your rooms keys they will give you keys for the hostel main door so you can go out and come back whenever you want. There is not front desk lady available 24 hrs, even during day time we barely saw her, so if you plan to arrive late at night or very early in the morning make sure you contact them in advance.

Quaint hostel away from San Pe....
Rey Lagarto is definitely a bit out of the way, but the center of San Pedro is far from inaccessible. Walking you'll reach the plaza in about ten minutes, and the hostel has bikes available for use. Breakfast is simple, My one complaint about the amenities would be the internet, which was generally slow and inconsistent.
Far and away though, the most impressive thing about our stay here was the service. I was only planning to stay one night, but plans changed quickly and I ended up deciding to leave a bag at the hostel through my checkout time. When I returned later that night, Karen, the owner, had moved my bag to her room and completely understood. Needless to stay I was happy to extend my stay another night.

Bit far.. And slow internet
The hostel is a bit far from the center (Around 1 km walk away). we were envying our friend who stayed at a hostel a lot closer to the center and at a similar cost.
The benefit staying at this hostel is that you get a free rental of the bikes which they got a few of and they are in relatively good conditions. **Renting bikes cost 3000CLP for 6hrd and 6000CLP for a whole day in town.**
The room was spacious, warm and quite nice. Make sure you get the rooms indoor... Because there are two external rooms and the guests in there said it was freezing.
Oh... You get free breakfast. two bread with cheese and tea and coffee.
Now to the bad points....
The water control in the shower was crap. It was either freezing or boiling, nothing in between. We can't mix any cold water to the boiling water in the mixer tap otherwise the hot water completely switched off......
And on two of the days the hot water completely stopped half way through shower.
Secondly, Internet was horrible! The Internet runs extremely slowly at the best times and completely halts at other times.
Lastly... The dividers between the rooms were paper thin. We could hear the person next door snoring and sneezing. Even a light conversation could be heard.

Not cheap for what it offers
Me and my boyfriend stayed in a private room with bathroom. Everything was clean but it is not a cosy and pleasant place to stay. People are very nice and are always trying to help you with the tours. Regular wifi. The kitchen is very unpleasant.
