Great spot, 10 mins walk from ....
Perfect for our 4 night stay. Staff were very helpful prior to our stay with airport transfers etc...pool is lovely to dip and the rooftop seating is great for a early evening beer, snacks/sandwiches available from the afternoons from the side bar - and honesty system for cold soft drinks and beers sums up this hostal - not pretentious in anyway but ideal for somewhere to sleep - welcoming, comfortable and clean. Breakfasts are good (and available from 4am for the early tours!) and all rooms face inwards to the internal courtyard/pool area. I'd book this again if/when we return to San Pedro, over and above other higher rated hotels - it gives a real feel to where you are staying, all creature comforts provided.

Nice small hotel with great co....
We really enjoyed our stay here. The best part is the inviting courtyard with small pool and lots of comfy places to lounge. There's also an honesty bar/fridge, which is a nice convenience. Our room and bed were very comfortable (bathroom a tad small and in need of a few minor repairs). We never did figure out how to use the aircon but it was pleasantly cool at night with the windows open. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and the breakfast buffet had lots of choices. When I booked I was a bit concerned about the distance from the town centre but this turned out to be no problem—a pleasant 15 minute walk on quiet, adequately lit streets. I think Pueblo de Tierra is good value in notoriously expensive San Pedro Atacama. We'd stay again.

Perfect - stay here!
This place is so nice. Especially after talking with other people about their hostal/hotels, I think we really lucked out with this place. The room is quite large. Plenty of room for both of our big suitcases. The bathroom was bigger than I expected. (Honestly, if people think it's small, they haven't traveled much.) The breakfast is fabulous. Plenty of bread, meat, cheese, avocado, tomatoes, and fruit every morning from 4am-10am! They also had eggs, cereal, cakes, coffee, tea, hot chocolate, milk, chocolate milk. Seriously, so much stuff.
A tip for those who thought the rooms were too hot. The "evap" setting is the button for air conditioning on the portable fan units. Perhaps some folks weren't aware?
Each room has a humidifier, so you don't need to worry about getting dried out.
There is a common fridge area where you can put leftover food, drinks, etc. Next to it is a little fridge with bottles of water for sale. (Remember not to drink the water in San Pedro. It has naturally-occurring arsenic!)
There's a little shop down the street on the corner with the essentials, and it's only a 10 minute walk into the main part of town.
The real stand-out was the staff. Everyone was incredibly friendly, and the place was spotless. They've really invested in making sure the guests are comfortable. If I ever make it back to San Pedro in my lifetime, I would definitely stay here again!

Perfect for our stay in SPDA
This hotel was a perfect oasis for our intense trip. The rooms and public spaces were stylish, and we took full advantage of the beer and water honor bar, breakfast, and the pool area for lounging and ordering afternoon sandwiches. The pool was a little cool, but fine for a quick plunge. We were also woken up by construction, but it didn't seem to start before 8am, so that was usually not an issue. Overall I think this was great value, and I'd stay here again, and also recommend. As others have said, it's a short walk to town, which was sometimes draining for our 7 year old, but was generally fine and worth it for what you get from the hotel.

A hidden gem!
We were very pleasantly surprised with this hotel. We arrived late in the evening and they were waiting for us to check in. Room was very adequate with a comfortable bed, space for our luggage, great shower and toiletries. The pool area and especially the rooftop area were great to relax after a day of touring. Breakfast was good and we appreciated that it was available before our very early morning tours. In the evenings, drinks and sandwiches were available for purchase. We appreciated that a refrigerator by the pool was for guests to store items in. Even though the staff didn't speak much English, they tried very hard to help us with anything we needed. The hotel was about a 20 minute walk into town. It was on a street that had good lighting so walking back from town after dark was not a problem at all. It was very secure and in a quiet neighborhood. We enjoyed our 4 night stay.
