This was not our first option, but all the places we wanted to stay were full. But at the end, we had a nice surprise and our stay was great. Rooms are very clean and big enough, breakfast was great and included at the price. All guests share a full kitchen with free water, coffe and tea (including coca tea). My opinion: good option for the price. It is located about 10-12 minutes walk from the centre of San Pedro de Atacama, but bearable distance and good for your health.

Oasis in San Pedro

We only had 2 nights because of an airline glitch- wish we could have stayed the third night. Beautiful setting, 10 minute walk to main part of town. We had one bedroom in a house - only one other room in use one night. Plenty of common area space to share and beautiful outdoor space. Natalia was very helpful with our travel issues. Much appreciated her input! Breakfast was delicious. Just the right touch of home being in a house. Decor is beautiful. Highly recommend Casa Solcor.

Wonderful stay in this lovely ....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Solcor. Natalia, our host, was helpful and accommodating. She helped us book two tours and had great recommendations for restaurants in San Pedro. It's a bit more expensive then some other accommodations but well worth it. Along with lovely rooms there is a nice courtyard with a small pool and a rooftop terrace to stargaze in the evening. What was also a big plus was that the other guests who were there at the same time also enjoyed their stay at Casa Solcor and we enjoyed their company as well. A nice change from hotels.

Excellent B&B in San Pedro

This is a really nice B&B style hostel located in a large oasis style grounds with plenty of shade and a small swimming pool. There are actually two “houses” each comprised of four rooms and a large communal area and kitchen. Natalia, the manager, speaks good english, and was very helpful in sorting out a few issues we had with tour operators and transfers. The only potential disadvantage is that the location is a little way out of town, maybe a 15 minute walk from the main street, which doesn't sound like much but it is hot and dusty during the day. Of course, no problem if you have a vehicle, but make sure that any tours you arrange will pick-up and drop off at the hotel.

Nice B&B but some areas need s....

Pluses: Nice infrastructure in terms of a well maintained living room and kitchen. Bedroom though small is comfortable. The decor is quite local and charming with a nice patio. Tour towels are provided for. Wifi seemed to be working well for us both in the bedroom and living area. The check in for us was done very efficiently by Jito. Areas for improvement: Breakfast starts only at 8:30 while most tours pick up time is before that. Natalia however provided some breakfast ingredients upon request the night before. Also despite few rooms, the lady managing breakfast mentioned that she had no eggs left while the breakfast service time was still on. She used tap water for coffee which also may not be safe (we were told water in san pedro has high amounts of arsenic) and before dicing the fruits put then on the kitchen sink floor alongwith a few dirty dishes to wash. Things that reflect that the back end for breakfast service does not seem all that hygenic. The front end looks all fine. Another problem is the dogs on the property who make it impossible to sit in the patio. On one occassion, the dog entered the kitchen and tossed the bin in search of food and left it messy. It is also somewhat difficult to reach the owner/ manager during the day by phone or watsapp should you need anything at short notice! Despite the long text under areas of improvement, overall I do think that the place is charming and well set up but a little more thought and personal touch can really make it even better.
