Twice is better
In fact we were there in October 2016. After some days in Puerto varas we were sure we got the better place. They are a bit different now after the changings. Anyway, we think we had one of the best times in our lives. We love Chile, we love Puerto Varas and we loved Dein Haus. After going south we went back for few more days.

Fantastic Views at Puerto Vara....
Stayed at the Dein Haus one night but would have loved to have stayed longer. Terrific place, very nice attention to detail, service, accomodating guests, and making things comfortable for us. The location is away from the downtown, and that is just fine. We loved being up on the hill, away from the busier part of Puerto Varas. I loved that we had a private veranda and big windows to let the light in. Beautiful volcanoes, gorgeous lake, and surroundings -- right outside. I plan on staying here again. Also, the hot tub was fun. The breakfast lovely. I especially loved that the proprietor centered much of the hotel's menu/operations on her grandmother (an immigrant from Germany). Thus, the Dein Haus!

Lovely, brand new, spotless B&....
A really nice place with large windows facing the lake. It is about 10 minute walk from the lake but we took a taxi to get back because it is somewhat up the hill. The price of the taxi is $3 US dollars. Everything in this place is new, clean and pretty. Very nice breakfasts and the people at the reception are exceptionally friendly and helpful. They got us a rental car which was brought and picked up at the front door, and just could not do enough to help. The only thing is that their English is very, very limited but if you know a few words of Spanish, you can do very well. We really enjoyed our stay.

A great stay!
We stayed at Dein Haus for 3 nights and it suited our needs perfectly. It is very clean and feels very new. Rooms are comfortable and reasonably spacious. There was a wide range of choice at breakfast and they also provided afternoon cakes and tea/coffee. Staff were friendly, they struggled a bit with English, but were very keen to try and give advice about activities and restaurants.

Very friendly, but a bit hard ....
Our taxi driver had not heard about this hotel, and neither had the people at his dispatch. The hotel is only 2-3 months old, so that is probably the reason. At the reception we were greated by a friendly woman. We had only booked for one night and wanted to check out the rooms. She gave us an option of 3 different ones and we liked it so much that we stayed there for 3 nights. The hotel is probably a 15-minute walk from town. They served a nice, German-style breakfast, but did not serve any other meals during our stay. In the evenings, we could use the hot jacuzzi outside. The room was small, but comfortable. It was so new, that we still could smell the fresh paint. Two negative things were the poor wi-fi in the room. And the fact that you could not open any windows. To get fresh air, we had to open the veranda door, and this meant that strangers could easily have entered our room. The hotel has nice views of the lake and one of the volcanoes.
