Average hotel

Stayed here whilst in Sofia for a long weekend. First off there was nothing wrong with the hotel, the rooms were ok, the staff were ok, the location was ok and breakfast was ok. Nothing was exceptional, but it was really cheap.

Good value

I frequently stay in here. Pretty nice, clean and have reasonable prices. The staff is always amazing (I don't know how they find) Breakfast is not so bad. The worst thing (like all others in Sofia) is the parking. They have private lot but charges € 10 per day which is expensive. Wi-fi is good in all areas and free.

Good value and clean

Very clean hotel and rooms with friendly staff who do what they say they will. Basic breakfast but ok enough choice to start the day and get you going, served between 0700 and 1000. Minibar useful and cheap but the fridge element of ours didn't work so didn't cool anything and it was hot while we were there. At times there was a dreadful smell in the bathroom but to be honest we have experienced that in many countries we covered the floor drain, shower drain and plug hole and it wasn't as bad. It wasn't there all the time. We initially thought the TV didn't work but it turned out someone had unplugged it. I understood why when I plugged it back in, if you are a light sleeper the bright blue light on the front will keep you awake! The walls are very thin. We were there for three nights two of them were fine but one night the next room people talked all night and although they weren't loud you heard every word. 24 hour reception was good. There was a bar open at the sister hotel the Adria for bottled drinks. Wifi was really good in the breakfast area and hallways but we were in room 203 and sometimes we got it, most of the time not and we had four different devices to try! A safe in the room would be very useful even at a small charge. All in all a clean hotel with good staff and services but if you are staying any length of time make sure you get a fridge that works (no tea making facilities in the room) and take some ear plugs. Good location 5 mins from Lavov Most metro. Fantastic Bulgarian restaurant just around the corner.

Not bad for the price

Pros: + Spotlessly clean, both in the communal areas and in the rooms + Decent enough breakfast as long as you're not expecting a banquet + Very polite and helpful staff + Comfy beds + Balcony for each room + Fridge in each room + 20 minute walk into the city Centre + 5 minute walk to the main bus station and a metro station Cons: - You have to pay as soon as you arrive, which is ridiculous, and they don't have change if you pay in cash, so you end up paying more which they don't think is a problem - There are no safes in the rooms and signs everywhere in reception saying they are not responsible if something goes missing from your room, so they obviously have a problem with untrustworthy cleaning staff. It means you have to take all of your valuables out with you, which is very annoying - The bathroom stinks! It is very clean but the water smells really, really bad, very sour and you have to keep the door shut so it doesn't drift into the bedroom. You'll have to take quick showers because it can be overwhelming. There is obviously something wrong with their water tank - I had a no smoking room but the smell of smoke was very evident - The WiFi only works in reception, not in the rooms, which is stupid in 2017 - The maids do not clean your room or replenish your toiletries - they just sort of re-make your bed, which makes the risk of theft even more annoying Other tips: The area around the hotel looks a bit rundown but I was out alone late at night and never encountered any problems. There is an amazing traditional Bulgarian restaurant just around the corner, as well as a small shop and some basic food places if you don't want to walk all the way to the city centre every time you need something. The bus and metro station being so close is very helpful. Overall very good location and a decent enough hotel for the price.

Convenient but not ideal

WiFi only worked in the hallway not in the room. Very good location, good beds. Good bathroom except the smell (I think it's the water so maybe not their fault). Overall a pleasant experience, pleasant staff with sufficient English.
