Amazing holiday was family.

Just come back from spending one week here and had an amazing time! when we arrived we were given drinks while we waited to check in and were given rooms close together as there was a big group of us. the hotel is very clean and around the pool area and the rooms were cleaned to a high standard daily. the restaurant was good and plenty to choose from and they do pizza's, burgers chips in the Spanish restaurant downstairs. the bar staff were amazing and really friendly in particular Denis and Stoyko and also the animation team Nia, Alex and Mitko, plenty of activities to do during the day and they try and get everyone involved so we were never bored. The Asian restaurant was okay but not great. would definitely return again. Thank you for a great holiday!

Wow what a great holiday

My husband and I stayed here for one week all inclusive. We had never been to Bulgaria and didn’t know what to expect. On arriving at the hotel we checked in, very easy, and had our bags taken up for us. We asked for a higher room and lovely sea view as we had upgraded to superior room. When the door opened it was wow! The room was big, it had a massive bed plus a double and single sofa bed and coffee table, a fridge, great bathroom with shower I would love at home, a safe and plenty of storage space. The only thing missing was a kettle and tea and coffee making facilities. The balcony had table and chairs and being on the 7th floor there was a fantastic view of the beach and sea as the hotel is on the beach. You have two restaurants the main one is the Obzor and the other is the Spanish Ole by the swimming pool which is open most of the day. Food is very good with a lot of choice so expect to put on weight, I did. Plates were cleared quickly and it was always clean and tidy. There were four bars, areas to make tea, coffee and hot chocolate and you collected bottled water from reception. There was a couple of TUI reps and various trips you could book, we did one to Nesebar which was very good. The staff were very pleasant and unfortunately we didn’t get her name but she was on reception when we got there and for our stay, she had long dark hair and was exceptional, a credit to the hotel. The village of Obzor is very pretty with plenty to see and places to walk which we did nearly every day. It was the beginning of their season so not a lot open but plenty for our needs. We had good weather but could be a bit windy along the beach and the sea was quite cold. There is a very big swimming pool but we didn’t use it as it too was a bit cold. We were very impressed with all aspects of the holiday even the thunderstorm one evening and would highly recommend this hotel and village and would go back again.

Fabulous staff

We returned yesterday having spent 2 weeks here. On arrival we were given a room on 6th floor, explained we had requested a ground floor room and 2 members of staff spoke to us and said that we were near the lift and the views were much better than the ground floor. If we wanted them to change it they would. We went to our room with the cases and then back downstairs for something to eet as we had missed the evening meal. We had a pool and sea view, slept with the balcony door open and could hear the sea. The room was very spacious, a very large bed, a double and single bed settee set up as settees, dressing table, stool, chair and coffee table and large wardrobe, half hanging and half as shelves. There was a safe in the wardrobe, yes you did have to pay but had to at most hotels we’ve stayed at. Main meals - there was plenty of choice, usually fish, chicken plus at least one other meat, a chef carving meat, vegetarian options, pasta rice pizza and burgers. There was also various salad items and cold meats and fish. Desserts were sticky, gooey and sweet, 4 choices of ice cream and some fruit which was variable, mostly apples, pears, oranges and watermelon. Breakfast - all the usual cooked items as well as continental breakfast, cereals, yoghurt and porridge. Drinks the bars were open from 10 am to midnight but you would have to move from one to the other, the staff were brilliant and very hardworking the ones we got to know were Ilian, Rado and Ludmilla who never stopped smiling. Entertainment, Stelli and her team worked very hard and organised various games during the day, they also did the evening entertainment usual children’s hour, presentation of certificates or winners of the games then the adult hour which could have been better if the hotel had brought some outside entertainers in occasionally. Some of the nights were good but it was bingo once a week and a music quiz once a week as well. after this there was the karaoke bar which was small and had very hard seats! To sum up, we loved our stay there and if we went back to the same place twice would go again but there are so many places to see in the world! Outside of the hotel it was a 10 - 15 minute walk into the town centre along very uneven footpaths but there was not a lot there apart from bars and tourist shops.

Amazing hotel

We have just returned back from a week away at the Hotel Riu, we have found the hotel absolutely amazing there is no fault at all with the hotel. The rooms are huge, clean and very spacious. The cleaners come in everyday and make up your rooms and give clean towels. The pool area is fantastic for the children we have a 9 year old and a 6 year old and for the whole week they have almost lived in the pool it is very clean and is watched by lifeguards at all times. There is a lot of variety in the main restaurant and food is served 3 times a day. There is also a small restaurant next to the pool area also which is open from 10 until 11:30 and the 12:00 until 14:30 then 15:00 until 17:00, with this open most we found that if you miss breakfast or lunch you wouldn’t have to wait long to get served in the small restaurant. The bar staff are absolutely fantastic they sure work hard and always have a smile on there faces. There is lots to do through the day for adults and kids as the animation team are constantly playing games around the pool. They also do a fantastic job at night in the main bar area putting on shows and playing games in there also. We loved it so much that we are booking to go back next year but are going for longer and taking more family members with us. Can’t wait to go back !!

Not the same

I'm currently on holiday here. This is my second time here the first visit being 5 years ago.. How much has changed. The rooms are lovely since being upgraded. No faults at all with them. But what's happened else where. You used to have 2 sittings at dinner(tea) time but now only 1. The food is not set up as well as it used to be. What's happened to all the fancy fruit/veg carvings you used to do. I remember the little men made out of cucumber and oranges. Whilst the food is plentiful and tasty it's the little details of a riu that are missing. The rooms are kept clean but again what's happened to the personal touch? No towel characters at all thus time. On my first stay we had a little gift left for us in our room from the management... Again its the little things missing that make the difference between a riu and other hotels. The entertainment has been very poor up to yet. All down to the animation team.. Why is there no shows/acts brought in from outside. Children dominate the jacuzzi despite the signs saying they are not allowed.. Staff walk by and say nothing. Its already had to be mended twice in this week alone. The pools are very cold. I'm very disappointed in the lack of detail on this stay compared to last time I was here especially as you are a riu hotel. I seriously don't think based on this visit I will be returning I'm saddened to say.
