Spent one night. Very comfortable room. Bed is good with new linen. Wifi was not working. Lots of restaurants nearby. Breakfast has a lot of varieties and is delicious . It is worth waking up before 10 am. Fresh fruits and delicious mineira foods available

I got room 1002, far from the street and high above as the advice in this Page says. That got me going. PROS:
Room is clean and comfortable, although not brand new. LCD tv big enough. Good channel selection and nice bathroom.
CONS: the first towel I got was smelly. Very slow Internet connection.
Overall, is the best the City can offer in downtown I heard and trust. There's few areas to get better so I guess they can do it in a blink of an eye.

Overpriced and noisy
Updated hotel in the center of Juiz de Fora, located 1/2 block from a public park and 1 block from the major shopping/restaurant district. The location is ideal. I will commend the front desk for accepting my reservation and pricing made through an online booking service of which they had no record. The front desk was courteous, the bellhops were attentive, and the breakfast was good. The bathroom, especially the shower, was large by Brasil standards. Nice game area on a lower floor which is unusual for a large hotel.
BUT...why do we stay in a hotel? To sleep, to eat, maybe watch a little television, catch up on email, check flight reservations, and maybe surf the web a little. The hotel failed miserably in all these areas. The mattresses need to be replaced (lumpy and too soft), television reception was moderate to fuzzy with limited channels and no HD, wi-fi was slow at best - many times dropping below dial-up speeds, The hallways and room floors are tile or wood, causing sound to travel great distances and echo in the hallways (think high heels). There was a family in the adjoining room that I could hear clearly through a between-room door...so much for a quick nap. The restaurant off the lobby on the first floor was some sterile and barren, not warm and intimate. Likewise, the lobby was very spacious but lacked warmth and was uninviting.
I cannot recommend this hotel unless you want to overpay to wake up with a sore back, listen to the room next door as if you were in their sitting area, and wait and wait and wait on the wi-fi to download a simple email. Sadly, they do not live up to their room rates and superior rating. There are better hotels in the area with the same amenities and location.

Nice overall though needs impr....
I review this hotel in October last year and wanted to provide an update as I am stying here from my third time. I am lowering my original review from 4 to 3 for a couple reasons:
Wifi in Rooms - Lacking. My first two time I could pick up a decent Wi-Fi signal but this trip the only plae I could get a signal was to sit in the lobby. During the day while working at the hotel there were 7 people in the lobby with computers. Fortunately they had tables but still an inconvenience.
While the facilities are clean there are some subtle things. I had both bedspreads and towels with holes in them. It reminds me of a facility trying to act upscale but not paying attention to the small details.
The 4th floor has the pool, exercise room, backetball area. This area is very nice and relaxing. The best way they could improve it is to have WiFi on this floor. I used the pool once, but couldn't find any tools so I had to get one from my room. There is not staff on duty on this floor so you are on your own.
My biggest complaint at this time is the air conditioning. It was non existent. I know it is summer in Brazil, but I had two different rooms and had other co-workers with me and none of our air conditioners cooled the rooms. I got cooler air in my room by having the windows opened. I ran the AC and had the windows opened each night and still found myself barely comfortable.
The positives are the staff they seem very willing to help if you ask.

Nice modern hotel
Nice modern hotel in Juiz de Fora. Good size rooms, clean, comfortable. Unstable internet connection. Horrible parking on the belowground floors (you better be thin, or will have to leave the car from the trunk, so tight are the parking spots). Nice employees, helpful people. Good breakfast, and a good on-site restaurant if you don't want to leave at night. Haven't used any of the other amenities they have. Overall, good cost/benefit. Location is nice, in downtown, with easy access to the main roads and to the airport.
OOPS, There was a problem in processing your request!!!
