Choice for quality
If you're travelling to Goiania for the first time I suggest to take a room in Mercure hotel. The room and the service is allied with the worldwide quality. I liked a lot also the breakfast room both for the location and the food. Overall a very good hotel.

In line with the chain standar....
Good option for a business stay in the city.
Rooms are large and comfortable, with a ample bathroom.
Service is friendly and efficient.
Breakfast in line with Mercure standard: nice variety and well prepared.
We also had lunch here. Nothing special, but comfortable and well served.

Pleasant stay for my business ....
I have stayed here for 12 days and overall it was a nice stay. Check-in was fast and Walker one of the few employees speaking English was very friendly and helpful. I received a room at 10th floor which was very spacious and with almost all facilities I needed: comfy bed, LCD Tv, minibar, office desk area, A/C, safe, plenty of space for my clothes and a nice bathroom with shower. The hotel offers in the room rate a good breakfast with omlettes, cheese, ham, pastry, fruits (pineapple, papaya, watermelon) and nespresso coffee. Pao de quiejo is also part of the breakfast. The hotel offers also laundry service which was quite fast and efficient: in only 24 hrs my clothes were properly washed and ironed. The only things that the hotel has to improve are the lack of slippers in the room and very poor English language knowledge among the hotel employees.

The hotel is pretty well located, but this is the only positive point.
It's the very first time in Brasil that I have to pay for my all stay (3 nights) right on my arrival without even seeing my room!
The service at the restaurant was pityful with rude waiters.
Some staff at the reception desk would benefit some training to be more polite with customers.
The carpet in the corridors smells badly and only a little bit in the room.
It amazes me that such an hotel calls itself Mercure.

This hotel is a joke ! I I stayed at their property in Goiania, Goias while in Brazil to attend a friend's graduation. and The organizers suggested this hotel, due to its proximity to the convention center.
Based on the pictures online I decided to stay here. Worst mistake I've ever made.
I booked two nights at a staggering $360 bucks per night "pretty high for this particular city" and everything was terrible!
I'm gonna point out everything that went wrong so that you can have an idea of what you're going to experience, should you decide to stay here! Keeping in mind that there are several other options in the area at a lower price and better service!
•slow check in, not friendly and very dry front desk agents
• no iron boards or iron in the room, when they state on line that such item are provided.
•called front desk twice and requested an iron, it took them 45 minutes to bring "just the iron" and it didn't even work properly "iron was leaking water"
• had to iron the shirt on top of a towel on the desk "nearest electrical outlet"
•Nespresso machine in the room is filthy dirty water in the tank stunk pretty bad!
•room wasn't properly cleaned before I checked in . An old "guest amenity fruit platter" was sitting on the table. Fruits were already rotten and smelling bad with ants crawling around it.
•curtains in the room don't close properly, so if you're sensitive to light, this could bother you .
• only two towels provided in the bedroom
•ran out of towels and had to call the front desk several times for more towels and never got it .
•ran out of water in the room, tried to buy one as I walked in and front desk agent literally couldn't get me one and told me to go the room and call room service, when they have a bar right next to front desk. Yes this really happened !!
•breakfast buffet was decent, however, milk in the machine was out! Asked for more milk and she pointed to the thermal container, but the milk was cold. I politely told her that the milk was cold and she didn't even offer me to get some more milk.
• at this point, I'm on my second day and still waiting for more towels, by the way !
•had the filet parmigiana at their restaurant. It is terrible ! Rice was cold and so was the potatoes.
•waitress took my order and then disappeared.
"Chef" or a kitchen staff brought the food to the table, dropped off and walked away. Never saw anyone else after that. I needed some condiments, more drinks and no one ever came back .
• at this point I couldn't care less if they had dessert, since I wasn't gonna be able to order one anyways.
• waited for almost 30 minutes to see if someone would show up and finally got up and went to the kitchen, same kitchen person who dropped my food, gave me my bill, I paid and went back to my room.
•still no towels
•stopped at front desk and asked him for a towel and he insisted in telling me, he'd send it to the room.
Almost an hour later and no sign of a towel, I called again .
•New front desk agent tells me he doesn't know anything about a towel request and says that he's going to put in and order . Finally, 15 minutes later I get a towel.
• went to dinner "outside the hotel" didn't wanna take a chance again. Plus who wants bad food accompanied by bad service?
•came back from dinner and one of my friend who's lives in town came over with me and we talked for a while. Found out later they they charged me $80 bucks for a partial stay, for having someone come visit me! Yes, you heard this right !!!
•brought all the issues I've had up until then to the front desk agent and he basically just looked at me and and said that there was nothing he could do !
So, this hotel claim to offer a service that they clearly don't provide!
If you must stay in the area, Castros park hotel is a bit older, but they are known for superb service. I'm regretting for hot staying there!
I am really disappointed with my experience and I'm writing this in hopes to keep Savvy travelers from going through the same thing I did.
The one star they got from me should go to "Shirley" at the bar.
She's the only reason why I didn't walk out and went to stay the rest of the night someplace else. She makes the best lattes EVER, and is by far the most polite and professional employee I encountered in this establishment.
Manager Mauricio was nowhere to be found!
