Historical and beautiful
The room was huge, with a very big bathroom, but the windows were looking at the 2nd floor corridor - so it was noisy from the guests checking in or out. There was a small renovation when we were there so it was dusty and sometimes hard to breath. The staff was very helpful, especially Coco , who went beyond to help us in any way he could! The breakfast is till 10:30, but don’t be late as there won’t be any leftovers ... 9:00 is already late!!! We stayed only for 1 snack beside the breakfast , and we took the avocado salad and cream soup but it was very forgettable ... if it was not for Coco I would give 3 -stars. The location is great though, very central for touristic spots.

Warning - read this before mak....
This is not a hotel in the usual way, this is a living museum. The owner have renovated and revitalised this old building with much love and care into a museum to live in. With old and antique furniture many bits and bobs they created a place resembling an age long gone by. So what does this mean for the potential guest?
The rooms are unique but as all parts consist of original (looking) materials windows and doors are not soundproof. If your room has a window you will have the noise of the busy street in front of the hotel or if your room does not have a window the noise from the atrium or the reception will affect your sleep. Many rooms in contrary to the booking.com reference “room with a view” do not have windows at all! The only new age amenities are small TVs, a fridge and of course bathrooms. The latter have been fitted into existing rooms thus they are microscopic in size.
If you like to spend your time in a really exceptional and original place, accepting the loss in comfort for a night or two then this will be the best choice. If you are more the guy asking for standardized hotel room layout you may not become happy here.
One word to the staff: They all are very, very helpful speak English, French and even German fluently (maybe some other languages as well) and are trying hard to let you feel at home.
Last but not least, the location is – for sightseeing purposes – the very best in town!

We stayed 3 nights and found the staff friendly and helpful. The rooms were spacious, we had twin beds were very much singles but the bedding was lovely. The room could get stuffy and there were no windows to open so we had to leave our door open to try and get some air in the room. The floors were wooden and squeaked as you moved around the room, we could also hear people arrive late and leave early. The bell at the front door and the phone woke us so there is no sound insulation. Twice we left early and a lunch box was prepared for us to take with us, very thoughtful. The location is good, we walked to the witches market, San Francisco Church to meet tours and restaurants.

Excellent hotel in great locat....
This hotel is in the middle of the central and tourist area of La Paz, yet it is an oasis of comfort. We stayed in the suite, room 206, which is huge and with a lovely vaulted roof with wooden beams. Staff is extremely friendly, went a long way to make our stay special. A bit pricey, but we think it was worth the money. Would definitely come back...
