Overall excellent stay
Very modern room with direct sea view. Great lobby and top location. Nice indoor pool and copious breakfast. Some room for improvement though: the pool is unattended and there is a general feeling of lawlessness, people happily jumping in and splashing away. Some supervision would be a good idea. In addition, it is supposed to be open from 8h in the morning, but several times during my weeks stay that was not the case. They also organise seminars in the hotel, for big companies, and service to other customers suffers on those days. The breakfast room is sad and would need updating to take away the feeling of a school refectory.

Average - better than Ostend i....
If you have to visit Ostend (and I strongly recommend that you don’t) then you could do worse than the Andromeda. The rooms are clean and fairly comfortable. I had a room overlooking the “courtyard” which in truth means that I had no view other than all the other inward-looking rooms but it wasn’t the end of the world. I did have a balcony and it looked like all the other rooms also had one. The walls seem quite thin - you hear doors banging and people moving about all the time - made worse because the floors in the room aren’t carpeted. The staff were fine, the breakfast was as good as any other average hotel. That’s what this is - an average hotel, somewhere you could quite happily come on a business trip.
Ostend itself is a grubby, noisy place which has seen better days decades ago and now looks tired and old. It is slightly redeemed by the long sandy beach and promenade. I’ve been here for work meetings in winter and summer and preferred the winter because there were fewer people around and the seafront, although bleak, has a certain beauty. In summer it is rammed with people and only serves to make you feel glad that you don’t have to stay long. At all times of the year the wind is strong and the North Sea depressing. A dismal town - best avoided.

Nice hotel and rooms on the pr....
This is a nice hotel on prom, note floor 9 does not have a lift to it directly, but rooms are great and actually have double beds!! Hurrah . Missed breakfast but sure it was good, nice bar on the downstairs too

For a 4-star hotel the Andromeda is disorganised and overrated.
- It has no restaurant except for breakfast.
- Parking is a nightmare. Booked parking space some two months in advance paid for it upfront and then it took the hotel staff a lot more than an hour to sort out a space for us. And this was by taking another person's reserved space!
- The Classic double room is quoted as "Overlooking the courtyard". There is no courtyard. It seems tpo have been roofed over and you look out onto an ugly roof.
