FANTASTIC break, Ghent is well....
We have just stayed here for 5 nights and had a really enjoyable and comfortable stay, the staff and owners are very polite, helpful and accommodating. The breakfast was really nice, there was plenty and it felt comfortable and easy. We had a huge room with a perfectly comfortable bed and I found it very useful parking the car in the garage. Use a bike to get around if you can, I was unable to, but it is a great way of seeing the area. We had a lovely time and would most definitely go back but we like the smaller hotels with more original style and more personal than large hotels where you really are just a number. All the staff we met were very nice and helpful - thank you. If you want character, nice staff, good breakfast and a nice feel about the place you stay, this is well located and we liked it and would go back.

Charme by name - charming by n....
Staff were all excellent - couldn't have been more attentive and informative. Wouldn't hesitate to return. No more than a 20 minute walk into the centre (or 5 minutes by tram) - breakfast buffet was plentiful and great quality.

Fabulous, Fabulous, Fabulous
We loved this hotel - the best on our recent vacation. The hotel itself was charming and quirky - we had a very atmospheric attic room which we loved. The staff were professional and very friendly and helpful. Fabulous breakfast.
The hotel is slightly out of the main hubbub - but for us this was a bonus. Lovely, peaceful nights.
The only down side for some (not us) is there is no lift and so could be a problem if you have mobility issues

Beautiful, quaint hotel only a short walk away from the center. Breakfast was delicious and the spread/atmosphere was a highlight of our stay in the city. Very peaceful with birds shirping in the morning outside your window.

Springtime in Ghent
We had a very warm welcome from the charming owner who spent time telling us about Ghent, places to visit, eateries etc. and gave us complimentary sparkling wine.
The hotel is a beautiful old mansion that has retained all its original features. As a consequence the lovely wooden floors in the bedroom allow noise from other rooms. It would be a pity, however, to cover these with soundproofing carpet as that would detract from their beauty, Our room, on the first floor was very spacious with armchairs and seating areas, and had a very large bathroom with a huge bath tub, which was a bonus.
The hotel is in a good location, very quiet, and a 15 minute stroll into the mediaeval town centre. We had the benefit of parking our car in their big secure garage which is adjacent to the hotel. That was well worth the 15 euros for our stay. We were able to leave our car after checkout (which isn't until 12.00).
Breakfast was excellent and taken in the large dining rooms. A big choice of cold and hot foods, juices, fruit etc.
What sets this hotel apart from larger ones is that the owners/staff go out of their way to make your stay a good one. They are very friendly and helpful, and add a personal touch.
I would definitely return here.
