Nice place, but not for everyo....
This B&B has only two rooms, each with totally different characteristic and features. In my case, I stay at the 'gallery" room. It is located in the ground floor, thus the place could be confused with a local art gallery due is possible to see from outside. There is no one at the reception and is needed to catch up by sms the lady who will open. Once inside, you feel to be in whatever but not in a hotel room. Bed is at the floor level resembling a Japanese futon, however actually it is a full king size bed. There is no standing shower, rather that there is a nice hottube. Breakfast if requested and pay 15 euros is served in room, at a fixed time which you need to set one day in advance a lady appear knocking your door and is needed to run and open her... The place is nice and curios but as mentioned, not for everyone.

Reception by our host was great, the room (suite) was perfect, beautiful and clean. Although right in the middle of the city (Korenmarkt at 50 meters, just aside a beautiful channel, book market on Sundays at the door), it was very quite at night and the room was soundproof. Bed might look strange in the floor, but was actually one of the most comfy ones I had so far. Breakfast was more than you can eat, and two trappists, a bottle of red wine and water were on the house.
Three small points of critic: the toilet room is rather small, space for putting clothes is limited (best to leave it in the suitcase) and time is relative: if you ask breakfast for 9AM, you get it at 9.20AM. But for some, this may be an advantage!!

Only 2 rooms are offered and have stayed two years in a row in both rooms now. Last year was in the 'red' room and is so beautiful and sumptuous filled with art from the local college. The sunken bed is an experience in itself - and the attention to detail in the room and sitting room is something to be admired. Took so many pictures as the room lends itself to experimenting with different filters and settings. Desperately wanted to come back to experience the second room so did this year. Its strange to say that we wanted to come to experience a room but its the way the owner Erik has gone about creating an experience that totally emerses you. They're really not just rooms to sleep in.This second room has a completely different look and feel to the 'red' room - the intention being relaxation and calm. It works! Beautful tasteful decor, a small private courtyard beautifully lit at night and a private Hamman shower. Stuff you would pay the earth for at an exclusive spa.
Have breakfast - its without a doubt the best I have had brought on a large tray to your room. Mixture of hot and cold food plus pastries and more than we could possibly eat.
Host was extremely helpful and informative about the room concept and general touristy things to do in Ghent. Really couldnt fault the stay in any way. If I had to choose a room for our next visit? Very difficult as they are so different but probably the one with the hamman shower. That was something everyone should experience at least once in your life. Erik has an appartment on the north coast - need to go there next!!

Lovely place and a far better ....
Decided to stay here as a similarly priced hotel room didn't look too appealing and glad I did. Lovely accommodation and setting was unique (I was in the ground floor room). The front gallery was a great place to enjoy the generous breakfast (could order one and share if there as a couple). Room was comfortable and the owner and assistant were friendly and helpful. Nice local food options nearby and a short walk to the centre. Pity I was in Ghent for work but will be back to enjoy this place again.

Very nice boutique guesthouse. The room was very nicely laid out, and very spacious, overlooking a private terrace. The bathroom is opulent, and contains an hamamm (steam room). The rooms are also soundproofed.
The location is also very good, only 5 minutes walk from the medieval centre of Ghent. I'd happily stay here again. It's not cheap, but it's worth it.
