Very Good Hotel in a Very Good....

Stayed six nights in October. Hotel is in the EU section of town with a train station about a block away with Airport connection, short walk to Metro Station and just a little more of a walk to Old Town. The service was excellent especially the Reception staff. Everything worked, the room was clean & spacious, internet speed was good and the food & beverage selection was ample for me. Good base for my Brussels trip.

Excellent hotel, around 20 min....

Staff was all around very welcoming. As a platinum member, got upgraded to a suite, the room is nice and spacious. If you are driving and need to park the car in the garage, just pull your car all the up to the garage door and it will open automatically. Not the most centrally located but there is plenty of restaurants around.

Conference in Brussels, Belgiu....

Everything around this hotel closes at 6 pm! You have to walk or take the bus to the old part of the town in order to eat. The breakfast is the same every day and mostly cold items. Since the breakfast was included with my hotel room, I ate here. Otherwise, I would have rather eaten at Karsmakers Coffee House, as their breakfast has more variety and for the same price as the hotel at $25 eruos. For whatever reason, housekeeping did not come to exchange towels for our room, for the 3 days that I was here. I had call and ask them for the cleaning service! The lack of hot water and water pressure was a problem. In Europe, like in Asia, have only etiher two singles or one double. Particularly hard to get used to, when you are used to the larger beds in Canada. To get ice, you have to either go to front desk or to the Starbuck, as they don't have ice makers on any of the floors. They ordered free wifi for their guests which was great. I didn't get a chance to use their pool, but it looked nice. There are no views that I can recommend, as my room faced the road. The front desk for the most part were friendly, knowledgable and helpful. I doubt I would have chosen to stay at this place if the conference organizers had not chosen them.

Alright - Nothing Special

This Renaissance is located in the EU business district of Brussels. Limited wine and dine options available right around the hotel. Pretty much everything around the hotel closes by 6 pm. So it is a very quiet place if you want peace. If you want more lively scene I would go to the Marriott downtown which I would do next time. This Renaissance also didn't seem as nice as the others that I've stayed at. Breakfast offering was limited to mostly cold items, and the same items every day. It got tiring after three days. So unless it is included, don't pay the expensive 25 euro for breakfast because it is definitely not worth it. The lounge, if available to you, was small, four or five tables. Happy hour was nice with hearty appetizers and unlimited wine and beer. The room was small but clean and sufficiently comfortable for sleeping. Hot water however, was insufficient in the evenings. Younger staff were nice and friendly, but older staff were indifference to my requests or questions. My billing was incorrect at the end of my stay and I'm still waiting for it to be rectified.
