On alighting from our taxi in the front of the hotel I was a little dismayed by its street appeal but once entering the hotel all fears were assuaged. Greeted by friendly efficient receptionist in a beautifully decorated, comfy lounge area. Once checked in were directed to our room on the top floor accessible by lift most of the way but a staircase to be negotiated before our eventual arrival at our room. Yes it is a bit of a challenge finding your way around the hotel and with varying numbers of steps to negotiate but it is all worth it. With 4 large cases to carry it was a challenge but very doable and our room was beautiful. We were on the top floor with views to the canal and it was huge. An entrance hall which the bedroom and large, spotlessly clean bathroom led from. An amazing antique wardrobe took pride of place and was ample storage for our 3 night stay. Could not have asked for a better room, we really made ourselves at home. Breakfast complete with sparkling prosecco was fabulous, enjoyed in a beautiful light filled dining room with canal views. The whole hotel was gorgeous and decorated with some lovely antiques and only a 15 minute walk to the centre of town but somewhere to escape to for peace and quiet after spending the days exploring this amazing city.

Regular visitor to Bruges - ne....
Our tour operator suggested this hotel as an alternative to the usual Martins Hotel that we stay in. The location is fine with a short walk to the main square. Plenty of bars and eating places in the vicinity. The rooms were spacious, some having a nice view of the canal. The only negative in the room I occupied was the complete lack of drawer space.
Breakfast was excellent and the staff friendly and helpful. As we were all in cars we needed the garage which was a bit of a hike but once you got used to it was relatively easy. There is a small pay car park opposite the entrance to the hotel.
Apart from breakfast we ate and drank away from the hotel so cannot comment on the hotel facilities.

Wrong info on hotel’s rooms an....
I am doing this review while I am
staying here as i had a poor
experience with the room I booked. I was with my mum and she has some back problems,
so she was not able to walk a lot. The room booked was a comfort room but the first room they gave us was one with duplex. So you can image if you need to go to the bathroom during the night it is almost impossible. The gave us another one and they shared there were few stairs. The few stairs were about 10 and the room was in the basement. If you open the window you can get the smog from cars. As I did not pay for a basement I have asked to have a reasonable room. The only one they were able to give us was one with not few stairs but 4 flights of stairs. Why I am so upset?
It is due to the fact that the info about the stairs and the availability of basement room for 191 euro per night were not available on their website or booking. I understand it is an old building but the website and the information provided by the booking systems should be clear and not false (as in this case).
I won’t recommend this hotel.
