Nice & clean hotel, superb loc....
Booked for two nights knowing the location I was surprised by the parking when we arrived. Public parking (cheap) as close as most hotel owned parking spots. Use the 1/3/5 parking levels and you get overground 20m away from the entry.
Nice and small reception. Clean and modern room. Glass shower (hope you “like” being seen or use the curtain ;-) fully integrated en suite.
Small but very good selection for breakfast.
Next time in Brugge this will be my choice again.

Great location for parking and exploring Bruges. Comfortable rooms with no complaints. Didn’t try the breakfast - slightly too expensive - so saved our appetite for lunch. Room, while modern, had some minor faults due to layout etc - balcony doors in the bathroom risked smashing against the shower screen - plus other little issues but nothing to stop our enjoyment of Bruges.

Excellent hotel close to the c....
Such a good stay at this hotel. Great value for money (a 4-starts hotel in Brugge is in average a 200 euro/night) , great location, a 10-minute walk to the city center. You can easily walk the distance from the train station, aprox. 15 minutes. Clean, medium size rooms, spacious bathroom, high-quality RITUAL toiletries, confortable bed and pillows. Everything seems to have its place in the room. Helpful staff, check-in and check-out made in a couple of minutes. Couldn’t say anything about the breakfast because we chose to eat it in one of the numerous beautiful places in Brugge (That’s Toast - try it, you will not regret it). I can’t find a negative aspect regarding the Portinari hotel, maybe the under renovation market that’s right in front, which can be a bit unpleasant for the eye, but that’s not that bad for an non-exigent eye.

I stayed at the Hotel as I was in Brugge in business. I had never been to the hotel before and was impressed by the friendliness of the Reception staff.
My room was a nice size, with a great view of the square. It was clean and tidy. I was a bit concerned about the full length glass window in the bathroom, however when you put your key card in to activate the lights etc. It activated a blind that lowered all the way down so that you had privacy!
It was quiet and peaceful, but close to shops and restaurants.
Breakfast was varied - eggs, bacon, sausage. Cereal, croissants, bread rolls etc with coffee, tea and juice.
The lobby was clean and inviting.
The only problem was that when we left the Receptionist was having a problem with the card machine on check out, but that could happen anywhere.
Parking in a stones throw away in an underground car park.

Good standard but room needs r....
Hotel as per couple in April this year, it is just a 10 minute walk from the station and 10 minutes from the hotel into the main square of Bruges so quite a good location. The hotel on the ground floor is quite basic with a small bar terrace overlooking a square which is being renovated and breakfast room which is only open in the morning and shut off during the day. Our room was small but comfortable, the fittings were ofof a good quality the bed was comfortable and the facilities were good with the fridge, safe and tea and coffee making facilities.
However it appears to have been refurbished recently and not particularly well thought out, the bathroom was accessed through a sliding door with a glass panel to the side, this meant one had a full view into the bathroom from the bedroom unless you closed the blind. The bathroom itself overlooked the front of the hotel and the Main Square so when sitting on the toilet you could see everyone walking past which made for an uncomfortable experience even though it was difficult to see in from outside. The sink had been positioned in the corner of the room but there was only a small shelf on which to place ones toiletries. Someone had also thought it appropriate to put the hairdryer in an open box in the shower which also had glass tumblers, not a very sensible idea in the bathroom. Because the bathroom door sliding it was not possible to provide the television directly at the end of the bed so it was placed approximately 4 feet to the left which would have made for difficult viewing experience so we didn’t bother. Because the glass panel and the window in the bathroom only had white blinds it meant that the room was not particularly dark at night and very light in the morning which personally I don’t like. I think because a four-star hotel has to provide chairs in the bedrooms these have been wedged in down the side of the bed even though there wasn’t really enough space for them. Really this room needs to be rethought out and I would not book it again
